[vanity] Reliable gun source in chronically sold-out times?

Posted on 12/05/2020 12:09:57 PM PST by ctdonath2

Remington is, presumably, still manufacturing the 700 CP in .308 ... anyone know of an outlet that can reliably (if not quickly) get one if ordered?

In these "everything but 6.5 sells out immediately" times, seems most/all local & online dealers just get stuff randomly and sell immediately. I'm looking for somewhere reliably expecting to get it, can give updated status, and will actually hold it for me when they do.

The gun store doesn’t know you. What if you can’t pas the background check?

f you don’t think people here were parroting Lin Wood’s threats, you haven’t been here for the past two weeks.

If you are referring to him advocating the boycotting of the Georgia senate elections then you are full of crap.

I've been here for the past two weeks and I can't recall one member of this forum supporting his suggestion......

So name names and post their alleged support or shut up...........

Quite a few - here’s one:

“Lin Wood is right. Because what is the point of supporting these people when they have already rolled over... Their own election has been stolen... and yet they say nothing?”

I figured that out right after I hit post.

I was in our LGS today and was pretty surprised that he had quite a bit of new inventory including a number of Remingtons. I did notice a lot of it was in not-so-popular calibers, though. I didn’t ask if he had any in .308 and didn’t see one.

Gun Showes have store representatives attending booths. The folks who can order it for you are all gathered in one place.

“If I recall, you were quite vocal in Chief Justice Roberts’ decision on Obamacare.”

And what was the Roberts decision based on? If I recall correctly the Roberts decision was based on the fact that obamacare was in fact a tax, and as a tax the administration could do what they wanted to.

Now, the whole time during the obamacare Inception. Obamacare was never called a tax and the Democrats did not want to call it a tax because the Democrats were trying to uphold some campaign promise of not raising taxes, when in fact they did when they instituted Obamacare as it was just what it is, yet another bucket-o-cashmoney that Congress can dip its thieving fingers into and spend this extra bucket-o-cashmoney on whatever it considers in its own interest.

Well, you confused me. I don’t think that I ever commented on tax vs. no tax part because I didn’t feel like trying to learn the details.

Back then I did note that Roberts initially was on our side and intended to vote with us, as that information leaked out from the Supreme Court (right after the hearing)...and then Roberts flipped, which is basically unheard of.

“Well, you confused me. I don’t think that I ever commented on tax vs. no tax part because I didn’t feel like trying to learn the details.”

It was one bulleted point in the whole national discussion that really stuck in my mind - (i.e.) the economic “history” that was yet to be honestly written about. The impact throughout all societal strata, and could it be accurately compared to a health system ante-obamacare.

My professional healthcare sibling tells me “face-it, it’s a hybrid now.”

Gunbroker, Gunsamerica , Armslist all have plenty of firearms and ammo.
Unfortunately, prices are inflated, but if you are new to the market you will not know the difference of what it used to be. If you feel deep down you need a firearm, don’t worry about the price. It can only go two ways, A) Trump remains and availability goes up and prices drop back down, or B) Biden gets in and firearms and ammo becomes unobtainable. I am a believer in both Trump and God, so I suspect A, but Obama convinced me years ago to arm up, heavily.

Incredibly, I stumbled across a new 700 CP in .308, for reasonable price, at Botach.com. Picked it up today, might just be the last new one in the country. Joy!

Now where’s that Form 1...
