I'm looking for books on American history that I can give to my ten year son. He's interested in the American Revolutionary War but he's interested in other topics as well. I'm concerned about ordering something from Amazon or elsewhere that might contain nonsense about transgender Founding Fathers or Muslim pioneers who took part in the Constitutional Convention.
Any suggestions?
Get the ones written by Rush.
Well if he is ten, he may have a chance to finish “War and Peace” if he starts now.
Rush Revere
History of the Conquest of Mexico
William H. Prescott

The Light and the Glory by Peter Marshall. The sequel is From Sea to Shining Sea. I forgot what the third one is, but by the time he finishes those you will know the third one.
Rush Limbaugh Rush Revere books is a good starting point
Can you go to an actual library? You can find pre-PC books. If you find some you like you can track them down online.
Go to a book store (do they still have them?). You might find something you and your son like and also which publishers to avoid ordering online.
I substitute taught at a Christian School - 3rd and 4th Grade English, History, Bible, etc. I was very impressed with the curriculum. You might contact the school and ask what they were using. It was such a blessing to teach and to have God in the lesson. Our State Rep and his wife started the school. I’ll get you the number and send you a message later with the info. The 3rd and 4th grade history lessons, in my opinion, were comparable to HS in the public school.
Also you can’t go wrong with William Federer’s material. The American Minute. I have heard him speak. https://americanminute.com/
Used book store for books published before 1980.
The several books by Rush Limbaugh are a good start.
Get the original series Liberty! American Revolution from PBS circa 1997. It was so original this series started the scenes were The major characters were talking to the camera explaining why they did it, like Ben Franklin escaping England after Parliament insulted him for 3 hours. I know it’s PBS but the 1997 series when they were not full on leftard.
It was highly copied that even CBC’S canada series copied that feature blatantly.
The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers by Kennedy.
While not American centered, it is pretty good for the 500 years it covers.
Voices Of 1776
-Richard Wheeler
Johnny Tremain
Bill O’Reilly is considered a good historian. He’s written about 100 books by now.
