Oscar-nominated star Ellen Page has come out as a transgender male named Elliot.
The 33-year-old actor took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to share an emotional statement with the revelation.
It began: 'Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, My pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot.
'I feel lucky to be writing this. To have arrived at this place in my life.'

Maybe not since she was a child actress, but I would hope so. Being thirty something she is responsible, and the outcome is not encouraging.
