I see the problem. The more tests they do the more cases of Covid-19 there are.
They need to stop that d@#$ testing!

The only people who should be getting tested are the ones getting hospitalized.

I can’t say that I agree with that. Anyone who thinks they might have the Wuhan Flu and wants to be tested should be able to get it. Others who work in particular kinds of jobs, like healthcare workers, should probably be tested regularly.

I’d like to see the influenza and pneumonia numbers or are they just thrown in and counted as Covid.

Last October, I went in to get tested for COVID. I only went in after my daughter was told to go in by her employer after she had a fever.

Turns out, I had COVID as well (felt bad for the afternoon of October 1, but otherwise asymptomatic). I re-tested three more times before I got a Negative.

Each time I tested positive, they counted it as a "brand new case". My doctor told me to stop coming there to get tested because they were afraid that if I tested positive again, they could get shut down for "all the brand new cases".

Had a nurse tell me recently that the flu and Covid are almost identical symptoms if not worse for the flu, but they are counting everything as Covid for the $$$. They have been doing this since day one.

If they tested the population for every year Influenza they will find even more cases. 2,302 deaths with 180,903 New cases is 1.27% mortality rate. Cancer, ebola, heart disease, yellow fever, plague, typhoid, encephalitis have all much higher death rates.

Cancer and heart disease may not be contagious but bad lifestyle is the major cause for both.

In ‘deaths per million’ the US still ranks like #12 - and if you take out MA, NJ, and NY, we’d be way down the list. WH needs to make that in their talking points.

I think that testing is of limited value. People should just stay home when they’re sick. And if you’re not in mortal danger, but have symptoms, stay home and initiate a telephone dialogue w/your PCP. Chances are the doc will tell you “you might have it so quarantine”. I’m a healthcare worker (ems), I had the virus last April. That’s what I did. Not being able to smell my dog’s #2 convinced me (and my doc). So the doc and I had a daily phone call. I never got tested until months later before a colonoscopy.

A problem I see are the medicaid patients who use 911 as their PCP. They *think* they might have covid. They get to the ED to be told that unless they’re admitted they can’t be tested there. Only then do they go to a testing location. Those who test positive (but aren’t bad sick) have spread germs while dumping sand in our gears. But hey those “free” ambulance rides buy votes!

People should just stay home when they’re sick.

Absolutely. But it has been said from early on, and I don't know that anyone has said otherwise since then, that many people who have Covid-19 have no symptoms. They must be spreading a lot more sand in the gears than those who simply go to a center set up for testing.
