Told I may be asked to go home and provide proof of my anxiety condition to wearing masks

Wast just informed by my boss I will be asked to go home if I don't wear a mask while on premise.

Informed him of my anxiety condition and he said get a doctors note.

Informed him the are I work in is 900 Square feet and I am generally the only person in that office and "the rules" say I am exempt from a mask under those conditions.

"Go tell your king newsom but, that is the way it is" he replied.

"If you have to wear a mask at the grocery store, you can wear one at work" was another answer.

Mthfkr! When I go to a grocery store I am in and out. I don't shop for a full weeks groceries anymore because I cannot have that damn thing on for very long without getting highly anxious.

Regardless, you are imposing a draconian measure where there, even if this whole thing is a fraud, clear rules such as:

If you are interacting with another person and within six (6) feet of each other.

If you cannot maintain a distance of more than six (6) feet you are required to wear a mask.

and On and On

1. I do not work near anyone at all. Colleagues are in another room. My desk is 25-30 feet away from my office door.

2. I do not have to interact with them to even do my job.

3. I can totally do my job out of the office. One wonders why they handed me a laptop and a cell phone.

I completed an order just the other day without coming to the office.

I am 66 years old. I haven’t given up my rights yet, Don’t plan on it now. I don’t wear a mask at work. They know I’ll quit if they force me and I have one of the crappiest jobs in the office that no one wants to do. They won’t force me or they’ll have to find someone else. I told them they don’t pay for my healthcare. That shut them up.

I got in a shouting contest with a manager at a hippie grocery store during checkout yesterday. I was wearing my mast but not over my nose due to my struggle with impaired lungs. I would have walked out during during the process if it had happened 4 minutes earlier...

“Get a doctors note, and play the game until YOU can make the rules.”

This is not going to be won by playing by the rules. You are still in the wrong mindset.

Thanks for the information, Vendome.

My wife bought a car yesterday from a private owner. She just went to get plates and transfer title in Milford Michigan. The SOS office is closed and the ones that are open you cannot get in until mid-March and that is by appointment only.

According to my source entire towns in Romania are being locked down and LE are blocking highways.

DO NOT give up your guns, Americans.

Do as I do - wear a medical alert bracelet and tell him to embrace the suck, lest you contact the HR department directly and file a complaint on discriminatory medical grounds. HR departments really get puckered over potential ADA violations. Clinically diagnosed anxiety can be considered a disability. I’ve been on lorazepam for 25 years, as needed, for it. Seriously. I know what it’s like to have an acute, debilitating anxiety attack. I don’t wear a mask for other medical reasons (it’s great to be a fly in the ointment from that POV), but you still have a strong case if it’s in your medical history as an active medical issue. Give your boss a nice, big ‘eff you’. I mean that. I know what you’re going through, and my heart goes out to you. Just don’t be timid about it. Show ‘em you got a big brass pair.

Go get another job if you don’t like the rules. My staff and I have to wear masks inside manufacturing facilities, and if we didn’t, we wouldn’t be allowed inside. You drama queens who absolutely can’t tolerate masks are welcome to vote with your feet, and work elsewhere.

Okay, so I’m not going to be snarky or sarcastic here, too much, this is actually trying to be helpful.

So, I’m working at the evil MIC, and the management says we have to wear a cloth mask. Blecch. They didn’t say what kind, and people were wearing bandanas and stuff.

I had the blue type and after a bit, I started having asthma and other issues. Felt like I was being waterboarded for 8 hours a day, so to speak.

So, the first thing I did was cut out the blue paper portion of the mask and replace it with cheesecloth. Seriously. It helped, but was really hokey.

Then, I decided, heck with it and looked around on Amazon and tried a few different things.

The standard ‘cloth’ ones weren’t much of an improvement, although I do like the Calvin and Hobbes one I ordered. It’s cute, if uncomfortable.

The ‘balaclava’ types are better, but squish my nose, and stuff.

I finally had enough and just ordered the full on *slamic face veil. :P Seriously.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08B5BR9G3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Because phooey on the whole thing. (I would use stronger words, but family friendly site here)

Anyway, I got the leopard print because why not.

And as to wearing it, it’s like it’s not even there. And nobody gives me any grief, and it gets me the occasional smile from the ladies.

So, I don’t know if that will help you any, but as for me, it’s nice to be able to breathe. Breathing is good.

Good luck to you.

There are legitimate targets but your employer is not one of them.

Your employer is not trying to use the law to take your guns.
He’s not the one trying to take your freedom of speech, or
Association, or your hard earned money. He’s trying to run a business, keep YOU employed so you can feed your family and pay your bills, same as him.

I completely agree with you about the playing by rules part, but he’s not the one forcing the rules.

There’s a whole tier above that needs to be taught a lesson about what “Public SERVANT” means. That’s where your ire should be focused. They get away with this sh*t because nobody stands up to them.

You and I probably agree on 99% of things, so I’ll add “respectfully” too. And I don’t think we’re that far off here, either.

Anyone who does this is violating federal law.. you cannot be asked or required to disclose your medical history.

You’re either an idiot, or you’ve never worked in any kind of a manufacturing setting.. What other safety equipment are you opposed to? Safety glasses? Overalls? Gloves? Boots?

BS. I had to wear one for a meeting for three hours yesterday. I’m home sick today with headaches as a result. The headaches began two hours into wearing it and haven’t gone away.

The masks aren’t real PPE.
I wear steel toe boots, arc rated clothing, gloves, eyewear, and hard hat at work locations.
The “non medical” medical masks don’t protect one from anything.
It is nothing but dehumanizing control.

Or according to you, I’m an idiot.

What he’s doing is committing an ADA violation. I think the fine is $15k for the first occurrence.

I work for insurance co’s and human resources gals for 35 years. This has nothing to do with Hipaa.
