Maryland Gov. Hogan to Trump: We Wouldn't Have Botched COVID Tests If It Wasn't for You

Since the start of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic earlier this year, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) has repeatedly said testing is the best way for life to get back to normal. In early April Hogan directed his state to purchase 500,000 COVID tests from South Korea. The problem, however, is it turns out those tests had "flaws" and weren't used.

According to The Washington Post, Hogan dropped $9.46 million for the South Korean tests. Once Hogan's administration realized the tests were ineffective, Hogan reportedly paid the company another $2.5 million to replace the first batch of flawed tests.

From WaPo:

The state offered the tests free to two private labs, one of which declined because the tests took much longer to process than U.S. versions, records and interviews show.

The University of Maryland, which had spent months equipping its lab in Baltimore to process coronavirus tests, abandoned the replacement South Korean tests this fall after a spate of suspected false positives. But the other private lab continues to use them; a state official said Wednesday that 370,000 of the replacement tests have been used.

To make matters even worse, when it became apparent that the tests were flawed, Hogan and his team reportedly kept testing data and flags from the state legislature, state spending authorities and even the public.

Hogan decided to order tests on his own because he was "frustrated" with the Trump administration, The New York Times reported at the time. Hogan reportedly relied on his wife, Yumi, who is a Korean immigrant, to help broker a deal.

The Hogans touted the deal so much that they shared photos of them meeting with the delivery person at the airport.

Hogan retorted, saying governors across the nation wouldn't have had to "fend for themselves" to get the coronavirus tests they needed.

"Stop golfing and concede," he tweeted to Trump.

Hogan has been anti-Trump from the time he came down the escalator.

In 2016, he proudly announced he wrote in his father's name for President in the general election. His father, a former republican congressman, was the first republican to vote to impeach Nixon. Hogan (son) was very impressed with that action.

In 2020, he wrote in Ronald Reagan's name (Dad had died between elections).

Both Hogans seem to highlight what is wrong with the republican party - no party loyalty.

The only reason Hogan won reelection this time was because his opponent was Ben Jealous, a true communist.

#2. Hogan is a “legend” in his own mind. Personal promotion and aggrandizement instead of real action.

Maryland politicians are so corrupt and incompetent (both parties) that my dead cats could do a better job of running the state than they are.

PS: The first Maryland politician of statewide stature I met was Mayor (and onetime governor) Theodore McKeldin (back in the 50’s. My mother and her brother were on Mayor Schaeffer’s Commission for the Fine Arts (Music and Art museums). I knew people in Jack Pollack’s political machine in NW Baltimore, and my wife once worked for VP Spiro Agnew. I just unofficially worked with Baltimore PD on several murder cases and my cousin was a noted public defender attorney there, plus the head of my Boys Club, the Lancers, was a highly regard civil and criminal court judge.

Judge Meyer Cardin (the father of mushbrain Sen. Ben Cardin) lived up the street, and one of my high school teammates was in the State Legislature for years.

Singing, “Sources, I’ve got sources”!!!

Baltimore sucks. Maryland is on a downward roll and parts of it will take decades to recover if there are any small businessmen/women left to rebuild it. Why rebuild in a Marxist-oriented, pro-criminal shithole city? Only the rich may be able to sustain a good lifestyle, until crime moves into those neighborhoods. In the old days, criminals knew to stay away from certain neighborhoods because they would meet armed resistance and a darn good police force who would take them down.

Today, you are on your own in most places. Even Baltimore County is heading downward and may never recover.

The Republican Party has a death wish, which Trump voters will be happy to enable for them.

When the Trump voters turn their backs on Republicans, and sit it out, the Democrats won’t even need to fraud to blow them away.

Hogan was NEVER a Rep. or a Conservative. From the day this THING started he’s been Gov. Deer in the Headlights for Maryland.

did Hogan forget that it was the CDC that dropped the ball on tests, first of all because CCPVirus is a NEW virus for which no tests had been invented and who refused WHO tests choosing to develop their own, and possibly because of his party's embeds sabotaging things? (like wrong reagents/contaminated reagents/faulty tests/contaminated equipment and tests/ bottlenecks for testing/inadequate supplies/failure to ensure state EM agencies had adequate supplies/mailing test kits to the wrong states and wrong addresses, etc.)

Hogan tried to one-up Trump and got bit in the posterior. Twice.

Had to msg him on IG: “ It takes a very insecure person to blame someone else for your own mistakes and poor judgment. I hope you find the self-confidence and acceptance for which you seem to be searching...but honestly and truthfully. You have repeatedly made me sorry I ever voted for and trusted you...but now I’m just sorry for you.”

The only time Hogan has been cordial to our President was when there was FOOD involved:
