The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.
Challenging Cryptogram today.
7 minutes good
5 minutes excellent
3 minutes superior
I am sorry to say this took longer than it should. The contraction was easy. The key seemed to be getting words six and seven and ten. The second word should have been obvious.

That took me about 10 minutes, but I’m listening to the Sidney Powell interview on Newsmax from last night at the same time I’m decoding. LOL!

But I got the first name of the source wrong. It was guess, and mine was, admittedly, a poor one. The correct guess is more common. I never learn, apparently.
First two words should be obvious.
“their”....*sigh*
Pretty much one word at a time.

Two minutes...I guessed the first (contraction) and second words.
1 minute.
First word.
Fourth word.
Next-to-last word (thirteen word) using most common letter.
Twelfth word.
Off to the races.
First word

Guessed author’s first name which revealed the second word even though one letter was an error in the guessed name. Obvious first and fourth words allowed the rest to appear.
Now, what do I do with the leftover 1:02 minutes of the 3 minutes?
First word — then easy sailing.
I thought that was just another illustration of the point. 😝
It’s not the brother of that actress from L&S?
I’d have to say his biggest mistake was M&M.
Or an example of irony, whether intended or not.
