McDonald’s Is Debuting a NEW Chicken Sandwich, and We’re Ordering One ASAP

McDonald's is entering the chicken sandwich war with this crispy little number...

Who can forget last year’s chicken sandwich wars? I kind of miss when the Popeyes and Chick-fil-a feud was the most dramatic thing going on in my life. Even Wendy’s and Shake Shack got in on the action, but this year McDonald’s is the brand to watch.

The Golden Arches are debuting a brand-new Crispy Chicken Sandwich early next year, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. Here’s what we have to look forward to in 2021.

McDonald’s Menu Is Getting Bigger

McDonald’s put out a press release revealing its intention to “expand its chicken offerings,” partly by introducing this new sandwich, but they didn’t give too many details besides the name—the Crispy Chicken Sandwich! I’m confident that McDonald’s will wow us with juicy fried chicken, a delicious soft bun (brioche, maybe?!), and some unique new sauce to top it all off.

We’re thinking that this new sandwich will build on McDonald’s other chicken offerings—especially the McChicken Biscuit and the Chicken McGriddle. If you’ve had those delicious breakfast items, you probably get why we’re so excited.

Another addition to the McDonald’s menu will be the McPlant. If you’re not sure what that is, you’re not alone—the McPlant is McDonald’s first-ever plant-based burger. The patty is made by Beyond Meat (you may have heard of them before) layered with lettuce, tomato, cheese and onions, all finished with a sesame seed bun. Even if you’re not a vegetarian, this sandwich will be a guaranteed hit.

Try These in the Meantime

The new McDonald’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich and the McPlant won’t be around for a little while, but that just gives us something tasty to look forward to. We can most likely expect the new sammies in early 2021, though we’re hoping for an official rollout at the end of December. Only time will tell!

While you wait, you can always rely on Chick-fil-a for a good chicken sandwich. We’ve even got your back with the best chicken sandwich recipes to make at home. Right before the heavy food of the holidays begins, a chicken sandwich is a great healthy meal to keep yourself going. I might just go pick one up right now.

“For example, are they seeing declining regular burger and Big Mac sales, because people are more health conscious nowadays? Is that what is driving the new products they are coming up with ?”

I suspect government oversight.

Just in time! I was looking for something to take my mind off COVID and Election Theft. Can’t ask for anything better than the Chicken Wars sputtering back to life.

I was there when the McLean hit. We called it dog food. Hated it. Giant pain. Couldn’t be cooked on the grill at the same time as real quarter pounders, smelled funny, tasted bad.

“It was a huge piece of fried white chicken meat on a bun with mayo.”

That sums them all up. You do have to admire the creative photographers they hire. It all looks so delicious...until they serve you one and you find out it’s just a “huge piece of fried white chicken meat on a bun with mayo.” Probably lukewarm, too.

No, it won't. When I want vegetables, I eat vegetables. I don't eat fake meat made with vegetables.

I'll try out the chicken sandwich.

I should try a Culver’s chicken sandwich. They have great burgers, made to order. I’d also like to try one of their fish sandwiches. They have a drive-thru and since it takes a few minutes to fix your order I’m guessing their drive-thru moves rather slowly. I’ve only been there twice and I signed up on-lne and get an email from them once or twice a month. Occasionally I get coupons for a dollar off their value meals but they expire pretty quickly and I’ve only used one so far.

Don't waste your time at popeye’s, their chicken is as appetizing as cardboard. Mcdonald’s, maybe. For the price of one chicken sandwich at a fast food joint, you can make four at home, and not have indigestion afterward. Why all the fanfare?

Maybe the chicken sandwich sees some success but I'm predicting an early demise for the McPlant.

Still, the best fast food sandwich ever is the Egg McMuffin. Prove me wrong.

I guess the silver lining to the Chinese pandemic is these three soy-boys are now wearing face masks in public.

I don’t care if ya post about the eating habits of city rodents. I just think it’s odd people can post about what’s on the menu at some slop joint, but become hysterical over someone’s vanity thread.

If I ever opened a restaurant, I would probably only serve one dish a day. People can see the dish online and decide whether to come or not that day. I see a lot of benefit to that. My kitchen staff would put all their energy into that one dish and it would be spectacular.

Sample weekly menu:

Monday: pan-fried chicken thighs over rice; sweet potato

Tuesday: grilled swordfish over rice, sautéed broccoli

Wednesday: cast-iron grilled sausage, onions, garlic

Thursday: grilled steak tips over rice; buttered squash

Friday: slow cooked ribs with rice and beans

Saturday: roast turkey, stuffing, creamed corn

Sunday: turkey soup

That's it. Either come or not come.

I agree wholeheartedly. But I noticed when they were doing the breakfast all day thing the ones they sold in the afternoon were awful. I’m pretty sure they cooked them all up in the morning, stored them somewhere and then just microwaved them when someone ordered one.

They get rid of all-day breakfast, and introduce a plant product. Great business acumen there. More people took part in all-day breakfast than will partake of that crap. I hope they lose a bundle on their stupidity. Not everybody gets up and goes to work each day, and not everybody works 9-5 in this country. All day breakfast was a way to have breakfast no matter what your schedule was. I don’t eat any of their other food. It’s crap. Their French fries are taste like cardboard.

A lot of high end restaurants have very small fast rotating menus. 5, maybe 6 items. It’s a good system. Exactly why you say: focus. Focus your staff, your stock, your efforts. Big menus are a warning sign. Except for Cheesecake Factory, somehow they’re pretty good with a huge menu. Never figured out how they pull it off. Guess every rule has an exception.

My wife is a Cheesecake Factory fanatic. I hate the place myself. But I found it more tolerable when I discovered I could order an omelette there.

Of course, that mortifies my wife.
