BOSA OMDABS OD Y GRUMYMOUL.---FUEVA BROD ZUEVAD
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.
Can’t tell how easy or hard this one will be.
I am pretty sure of the first four words...but now am stuck
Ok. I have it, but the author is unknown to me.
Hard. 5 min.
3rd & 4th word; 1st word; 2nd word.
Funk.
Play with letter combinations on the last word. Not what you might think at first?
Whoof, about 5 minutes
Played around with grammar for words three and four.
Then considered options for end of word five
Lucked into middle name of author
I think this is one of those quotes where, afterwards you have to google the quote to get the author.
IF YOU ARE HONEST BECAUSE HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY, THEN YOUR HONESTY IS CORRUPT. ---DR. ROBERT ANTHONY
Yes, I could figure out his middle name, but not the rest.
Best part is trying to figure out the name! That’s real crytpogramming!
Agree and guess a good idea to see what led up to -or followed- the quote.
As a stand alone????
Just guessed three and four, then searched for anything that would fit into the fifth, which happened to be right and gave the rest away. Tricky!
Verb, article....
2:48.41
Once I got words three and four, it was a easy. I did not solve for the author, I had to google to find it. Time to find the author is not included in the time posted.
It was the French/Spanish thing that killed me.
1:45 to solve the puzzle.
5:38 for the author.
I tried to figure out what name would be suitable in the author’s nationality. When satisfied, I did a google search and I had guessed correctly! WOO HOO!
I thought it was a magazine.
YOU’RE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE MISSED YOU!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, got the quote, but foreign names stump me
