Eating just one egg a day increases your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 60 per cent, according to a new study.
Australian researchers who studied a sample of 8,545 Chinese adults found a positively correlation between higher egg consumption and high blood sugar levels in Chinese adults.
Eggs are versatile and nutritious and are promoted as a 'healthy fast food' in the UK, but have proved the ultimate conundrum for diabetes researchers.
Previous studies have indicated that eating eggs can actually keep diabetes at bay, adding a confusing mix of scientific literature to the debate.
This new research suggests regular consumption of an egg a day – either boiled, scrambled, poached or fried – makes you more prone to the condition, which occurs when a person's blood sugar is too high.

But of course!! EVERYTHING leads to Covid!
I believe this is unmitigated BS & eventually the truth behind this study will ‘out’.
They eat RICE and bread all the time.
Eggs do not increase diabetes, blood sugar, or insulin levels. If you have a lot of eggs at once, your liver converts some protein to blood sugar.
and pepper lodges in your kidneys eventually killing you, and all the other memes like this one meant to make people go vegetarian or vegan.
BS - there’s a giant move to get us off of real meat and protein and onto soy and carbs - a slave’s diet - probably for “sustainability”
There’s absolutely ZERO reason for eggs to cause diabetes. There’s no science showing dietary fat causes it (in fact studies show the opposite) being fat and overweight DOES - but you’ll get that from eating toast and orange more than a daily EGG!
Another fake epidemiological study. Almost no nutrition studies actually have merit. That is, they are not controlled clinical studies. Most have people self-reporting what they ate and don’t control for quantities or anything else. Then they search the resulting random data looking for any two things that move in the same direction and declare that they are ‘linked’ and ‘suggest a relationship’ and other words like that which reveal the truth: it’s not an actual finding.
I never eat one egg at a time. Usually when I have them I have 4, either in an omelet or fried. I love ‘em. I just bought 3 dozen from Kroger. Cost about $.85/dozen.
Obvious that the UK overlords don’t want Brits to partake in a healthy, KETO diet.
That, and they probably have fake eggs (soylent green) getting ready to roll out for the NotSoGreat Reset.
I call BS.
Not to mention the fact that my grandparents and parents ate bacon and eggs EVERY morning, for DECADES, and did NOT have diah-beatus.
Doubtful I got 300+ chickens...
Would the risk change if the egg is combined with bacon, cheese, and a biscuit?
Oh brother.
2 eggs and you die of covid!
It’s like watching a tennis match isn’t it.
If that study was true, by the end of the week, nearly the entire country would have diabetes.
Eggs are high in protein and VIT D for the eyes and bones. Now these clowns want us to stop? They do these to everything from milk, beef and everything that breathes.
How ridiculous. Are they telling us that the only difference between these people in what they ate and other habits was that they ate an egg every day? This is like the joke about people who eat cheese are also more likely to strangle in their bed covers. You can make a correlation out of anything.
I never ate eggs or breakfast in all the years I worked, and I got Type II diabetes before I retired. I only started eating breakfast when I retired in 2003, and my diabetes after 20+ years is still controlled by oral medication. My father got up every morning, and made himself a big breakfast before heading off to work on the railroad, and he never had diabetes. These studies are useless.
So very thankful I’m not Chinese!!
Australian researchers who studied a sample of 8,545 Chinese adults found a positively correlation between higher egg consumption and high blood sugar levels in Chinese adults.
This has to rank as one of the dummest bits of trash from the press I've seen today.
How would an egg, which is pure protein with zero carbohydrates, raise blood sugar levels?
Peasant, eat more grains and gruel.
Your betters will eat the eggs and meat.
I think this is total BS. First they want to take away meat, now eggs???????
