Thank you. I think hed hurt himself before he hurt anyone else, but who knows in a situation like this. One thing I do know is...2020 sucks big time.
Thanks for your prayers. She wants to go to marriage counseling but he refuses. He hates doctors of any kind, except his dad who is a chiropractor. Go figure.
I see where he hatred of doctors came from.
If he wont do counseling, I do not see what options she has.
You call it meddling. I call it being a mother and continuing to guide her when she needs it. If she confides in me, I give her my opinion. She may not like it because usually its something she hasnt considered and doesnt wanna hear. But in the end I support her decisions and she knows that.
Me either. Its a simple thing if he wants to keep his marriage together. It might be too late for them though, but miracles can happen. Hence the prayer request.
Thank you, Green Hornet. I just dont think its strange to love both of them at the same time, but apparently Im an aberration here, lol. It goes without saying though that my daughter is my main concern.
Thank you for your prayers, Robert DeLong, and your advice. I want the best for both of them, even if this is the result. I just hate to see a chapter of a love story close, but this is the year to have it happen I guess.
Thanks for your prayers. I appreciate it. And Im sure I only know a snippet of what goes on in their marriage. I dont know if theres anyone else; she assures me there isnt, although that was always her MO in the past. They both have issues along with trouble communicating, which is why counseling would be great, but he refuses, saying he can do it by himself. My initial fear is he will harm himself, but Im also worried about her safety as a secondary reaction. I guess thats why my heart is so heavy at this time.
And you are more than welcome.
Unfortunately, our daughter didn't get over ending her long term relationships and marriages until she was in her 30s. She had a talent for reeling in guys who were quite nice which was a little surprising to me. You always hear all of these horror stories about men but she managed to screen them very well.
Prayers for a positive outcome.
The sad thing about our daughter is that she always seemed to feel that she could do better. Looking back at all of her men... her first husband who fathered her oldest son really was the best of the bunch... best looking, best family, and most successful.
Thank you, fieldmarshaldj.
I hear you. My daughter is a grass is always greener type. I have to keep reminding her that it isnt. Shes also easily influenced by others. But with every guy in her life, when shes done, shes done. Most of the time she had someone waiting in the wings so we shall see if thats the case here. I really hope not though. Its hard to watch them keep making mistakes, isnt it?
Wasn’t it so much easier when the kids were little?! I am not a fan of having to “step back” and let them make their own mistakes. It is very, very difficult to do. I have a friend who says, “little kids, little problems.. big “kids”, big problems”. I would add on to her saying,”and we are suppose to watch the train wreck”. Perhaps both of them need some growing up to do and maybe they can learn a lot from this. Hugs! Mom
Thank you, mom!
He also said he would have gone to therapy but doesnât recall her asking him to. He defended her and said he would do anything for her. He stated that he wants her to be happy, even if it wasnât with him.
Sheâs angry with me for giving a shit about my SIL whom Iâve cared about for 10 years. Psychologically sheâs blaming me for reminding her about what her behavior has done to someone she supposedly loves.
The saddest thing is my husband and I have come to the realization that we raised a selfish, self-absorbed, and immature young woman who is obviously lying to everyone around her, no matter who gets hurt. I still love her but Iâm extremely disappointed by her behavior.
Prayers up for your daughter and Adam. â¤ðâ¤
Jesus is living water
Hugs and love to you. Stay strong and prayerful. Your love and kindness is a true testimony. ðâ¤
