There are fewer and fewer news sources to draw from so many have been exposed so fraudulent or misleading or just fake. That may be one part of the explanation for fewer posts.

Yes. It is. The moderators have basically ran off those that post serious and thoughtful articles by accusing them of trying to “pimp” their blog. If you have noticed the fund-raisers now take the entire 3 months to complete. Mods have caused those that donate money to cease coming to the site. I’ve had the site bookmarked since the 90s or so, back when a fundraiser could last only a week before complete. Heck, Sean Hannity used to support his site.
