The amount of news on this site is entirely dependent on the users bringing it here posted as threads (it is a news aggregate that way).

I used to submit posts, but got so many pings from that it was eating up too much time. If there were a way to keep ones name out except for answers naming you, it would help. Now I submit significnt articles to people who maintain relevant ping lists, usually by private mail. If they think it is relevant they post it.
