Yeah that’s the way to get people to listen.

Write down as many allegations as you can and mix it in with the truth also to deceive.

...dropped dead at 50...

I HOPE some day when this writer dies it says DROPPED DEAD in his obit. :)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Wicked,_Wicked_Ways
My Wicked, Wicked Ways is an autobiography written by Australian-born American actor Errol Flynn with the aid of ghostwriter Earl Conrad. It was released posthumously in 1959 and became immensely popular for its cynical tone and candid depiction of the world of filmmaking in Hollywood.[1] My Wicked, Wicked Ways has sold over one million copies.[1] The book has never been out of print.[2][3]

He’s not the only one who died young. Who else? Gary Cooper? Think Bogart-57. Gary Chandler-close. Cancer took lost of them.

Like Alan Hale Sr’s Little John in both generations, Flynn was THE Robin Hood to me.

Grew up with his movies, and yes, I’ve read everything about him.

Flynn’s characters defined swashbuckling.

The author fails to mention if Errol has continued voting in any of the swing states since he “dropped dead” in 1959.

Always loved Errol Flynn’s movies.

Objective Burma and The Sea Hawk were two of my favorites... and of course Robin Hood.

Olivia De Haviland was stunning as Lady Marian... I would have “ravaged” her in Sherwood Forest, heheh....

“my favorite actor when I was a kid”

I couldn’t stand the guy, too much Errol Flynn for me.
But here’s a very interesting if not ironic video of
Flynn talking about his buddy Fidel Castro.

I think I recall reading that he and John Garfield were friends. Garfield died at the age of 39. He was known to have had a heart problem. David Niven and Flynn were friends too, and partied together. I loved Errol Flynn, and have a collection of his movies.

I liked Errol Flynn in his movies, however he was a pedophile. This is what “In like Flynn” refers to.

Search result: He once claimed: “I like my whiskey old and my women young.” Flynn also was rumored to have his house filled with peepholes and two-way mirrors to spy on women in his home.

did you see that biography on him on history channel i think it was? Was absolutely disgusting- He purportedly filmed couples in rooms without their knowledge- and was really quite a vulgar person if the report was true of him- I believe he was tried for 2 cases o statutory rape- one for sure-

I’m not sure about the hole in his heart. I did read that his doctors told him to take it easy, which of course he totally blew off. The day he died he was playing strenuous rounds of tennis. Went to dinner with a female friend and felt ill afterwards. She pushed him to see a doctor. He blew that off too. Said he just wanted to lie down, so she took him to her apartment, and left him alone for the night. The next morning when she went in to check on him, he was dead. He was also one of the actors who was questioned by the U.S. Congressional House Committee on Un-American Activities about communist leanings.

yep- a lot of actors actresses were questioned-

the U.S. Congressional House Committee should hold hearings today though on actors/actresses and question them about Un-American Activities about Liberal Leanings lol

Wouldn’t that be a hoot. Most of them have communist leanings, but love the money they make through capitalism.

IN LIKE FLYNN

the rhyming phrase became associated with actor Errol Flynn, who had a reputation for womanizing, consumption of alcohol, and brawling. In November 1942, two under-age girls, Betty Hansen and Peggy Satterlee, accused him of statutory rape.[2] A group was organized to support Flynn, named the American Boys’ Club for the Defense of Errol Flynn (ABCDEF); its members included William F. Buckley Jr.[3] The trial took place in January and February 1943, and Flynn was cleared of the charges. According to etymologist Michael Quinion, the incident served to increase Flynn’s reputation as a ladies’ man, which influenced the connotations of the phrase “in like Flynn”.[1] Columnist Cecil Adams also examined the term’s origins and its relationship to Flynn. Many early sources, attesting the phrase, say it emerged as war slang during World War II.[4]
