Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) says she's thinking about starting a family and has considered freezing her eggs.
"I’m sitting here, I’m like, Do I freeze my eggs? Can I afford to do that?” the New York Democrat told Vanity Fair with a laugh in a cover story for the magazine's December issue, published Wednesday.
“My orthodontist was telling me about how she was doing IVF, and I’m, like, asking her what her experience is like," Ocasio-Cortez said.
The average cost of in vitro fertilization per cycle is between $12,000 and $17,000, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Freezing eggs can typically cost between $15,000 and $20,000 per cycle, says digital database Fertility IQ.
The 31-year-old lawmaker - the youngest member of Congress - says it's "important" for conversations around family planning to be openly discussed "because women, we have to make these choices that men simply don’t have to make."

She had better check in to see how much it costs to do the IVF in Socialized Medicine countries. We have relatives that were ‘allowed’ one child (they had trouble conceiving) through IVF. No more children for them. Not on the NHS. So, II don’t know about freezing her eggs with an NHS. But she should check.
She bitched about her college debt. Has she paid that off yet, now that she makes 6 figures on our tax dollar?
She’s given almost $200K a year and she doesn’t know if she can “afford” something?

Orthodontist is probably saying “forget the eggs. Will you let me try and fix those horse teeth of yours?”
This is her whole schtick: start with something blindingly obvious to humanity, but present it in an exasperated and accusatory tone as if she was the first person to have ever thought about it and then demand that people take her seriously when she either presents her leftist solution or throws a snarkfest about it with no acceptable solution allowed. It’s tedious.
Please make sure her and her overies are attached when you put her into the deep freeze!!
