Just a few images to lighten things up
In this series of photos, you will see a polar bear
come upon some sled dogs tethered to a stake. Oh boy,
Normally you would think that a dog tethered to a stake would be lunch
for a polar bear, but these pictures tell a completely different story.
Nothing like playing with a new found friend
From what I can see, the polar bear just
wanted to play and get a little brotherly love.
The professional photographer who took these photos said the bear came back
every night that week to play with the dogs. It gives a whole new meaning to
the verse The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, (Isaiah 11:6)
Gods animals having fun.
These excellent photos were taken by photographer Norbert Rosing
when he was in the wilds around Canadas Hudson Bay.
That has been around for a while...interesting...I just brought that series of pictures up in conversation recently.
That was one lucky dog.
Yeah. Just try hugging a polar bear next time you see one and find how that turns out.
A mother bear that lost her cub and used the dog like a replacement?
Thanks. It feels good to look at something untainted.
Why?
I needed something like this tonight. Thanks.
Cool, thanks for sharing.
Could be...I once heard that dogs and bears are related in some biological way, but they apparently aren’t. But I remember reading the article some years ago, and I recall the dog did the forepaws on the ground with their butt in the air (a universal canine body language for “Let’s Play!” and the bear responded to it in kind.
But that was a long time ago, so I don’t know if I am remembering it correctly.
Still a fortunate dog. The bear had probably just eaten something else.
Polar bears are territorial and they kill anyone they see on their grounds. In the words of Cypher from The Matrix: “if you see an agent, you do like we do. You run your ass off.” Only in this case, it’s a freaking bear.
This is probably from the series called “Unlikely Animal Friends.” If so, it’s a location on the SE shore of Hudson Bay, where a fellow lives a solitary existence with his dogs. The bears come to visit every summer, IIRC, and then split in the fall.
I don't think they are territorial as much as they are predatory. They typically kill anything they see because food resources are relatively scarce in their territories. Other than a bull walrus, a polar bear can kill anything it finds on land or on the ice.
You said do it, as if anybody would. Why would anybody?
More like some sick orgy about to take place!!!!
No wait. They would have to be dem animals for that to happen.
Cute picture.
I once shot a polar bear in my pajamas...
One day they will all be like this
What was the pb doing in your pjs?
I’ve been waiting for HOURS for that response!!
Now I can go to sleep :)
I owned all the Marx broths on DVD.
Now I own them all digitally :)
