The phrase any given Sunday was coined by Bert Bell, who served as NFL commissioner in the 1940s and 1950s, and immortalized in a 1999 Oliver Stone movie by the same name. It represents the idea that any pro football team could beat another team, even as a big underdog. But Sundays matchup between the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs and 0-7 New York Jets puts the cliché to the test. The Jets opened Monday as 20.5-point underdogs, the tenth-biggest spread since at least 1976, according to sports betting outlet TheLines.com.

Jets skitter in for a meaningless TD with 3 minutes to play and Henne can't connect.
WHO CARES! Why are you still cheering unamerican activities?
There’s not much to be gained in the NFL with mid season firings. When your team is doomed it’s doomed. And sometimes it can force your hand. A while back the Chiefs fired their coach and installed Romeo Crennel as interim. Crennel then proceeded to run the table. So then they pretty much had to make him full time, Problem is Crennel isn’t a good head coach. So they stunk worse than the previous season, and they fired him. Though I guess that worked out in the long run because Reid wasn’t available the year before.
I guaranteed it
Who cares? Has this worthless league of anti-American, racist losers failed as yet?
Both teams actually got to the Super Bowl, though.
I think you are right and I hope you are right about Gase. A total loser. To think, the Jets had a chance with Mike McCarthy.
Yeah, I’m glad so many on our side will be comfortable obsessing over ball games while we transition to Communism.
Truth! And where does the team get the right to insult Native Americans, and call themselves the "Chiefs"? The racist owner should ditch the genocidal name, just like the Washington Football Team! That's right! They should be the Kansas City Football Team! (No, wait - it would have to be the Kansas City Missouri Football Team, to avoid appropriating the culture of the poor, oppressed folks next door in Kansas!) OK, so maybe the KC Missouri Football Team would be better! That's it! Systemic racism! Power to the Peeple!!

I’d bet the over.
Irrelevant irrelevancy concerning antiAmericans who parade their bodies for money
Supporting the AntiAmericans that make up the NFL is promoting socialism
20.5 points? It’s a typo. It is 30.5 points. Lay the points and take the Chiefs.
That win was squarely on the shoulders of the Jets' defense. Holding the great Baltimore Colts team to seven points was unheard of!
I recall a follow on game wherein Unitas and Namath dueled with something like a combined 900 yds passing. Football without the BS was fun in those days. Stationed in Baltimore for a short time and discovered Gino’s. Also discovered another thing, The Block, but that is another story.
