The current slogan is the most important election of our lifetime is the 2020 election. I disagree. Without the massive systemic damage inflicted under Obama, with his race-war narrative and hyper-socialist policy impositions which seem all but undoable now, we wouldnt be in the mess we find ourselves today.
Obama was in the convenient position to appoint 2 radical leftist Supreme Court justices and hundreds of federal inferior court judges. (https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2020/07/15/how-trump-compares-with-other-recent-presidents-in-appointing-federal-judges/), one of the highest number by any president. These judges had free reign to do Obamas bidding unhindered. Even discounting Roberts as a throwaway vote, his two Supreme Court hacks pushed the defense of Obamacare over the top, as if Obamacare would have even been an issue if he had not been elected.
And the damage has lived after him, as numerous court decisions since Obama have stripped the proper, constitutional power of protecting our borders away from the sitting president in unprecedented ways.
No, Obama was the supreme damage. What we are seeing today is just the fallout.
I don’t put too much blame on Palin, she did her best. She gave a rousing acceptance speech at the RNC and excelled at the rallies. But she wasn’t prepared for the national stage and McCain’s people pretty much hung her out to dry.
The president sets the tone of policy affecting the entire nation, without actually enacting anything. Obama gave horrific, inordinate power to our foreign enemies and to the Gaystapo, enabling dangerous attacks against us, compromising our military by sodomizing it, and enacting thought crimes, aka hate crimes, legislation that has fueled further erosion of our freedoms and common sense.
I seriously doubt McCain would have pursued any of this. With Palin at his right hand, her influence would have ensured against it.
If you’re going by that metric, 1988 was the year when the Bush cabal won the Presidency and crime families had been running it ever since until 2016. 2017-2020 have been The Years of the Respite when the various family capos from past administrations have waged a severe war of nuetraluzation/ removal against President Trump the entire time. Hopefully, we enter The Years of the Great Recovery in 2021-2024. Otherwise, the crime families are back to running the country into the ground.
Okay, I expect to catch a lot of flak for this post. But Im going to say it anyway. The most importent election in my lifetime (so far) was in 2000. George W. Bush was elected that year. His Islam is peace stance - plus his invasion of Iraq - make him the worst president ever.
The West will pay for Ws mistakes for generations. If I could go back in time to 2000, I would unhesitatingly vote third-party. And if there were no third-party, I would have voted fore Al Gore. Gore would have appointed bad judges, and bad cabinet secretaries. But at least he probably wouldnt have invaded Iraq.
Not so. If it was an important election why did GOP nominate a short, fat, old, low energy maverick senator who refused to criticize Barack Hussein Obama? Obama had never run anything in his life and could not run a hot dog stand without losing money. Obama was a street thug community organizer from southside ghetto in Chicago. He lied his way to white house by promising if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor etc. Old dodgy McCain who never ran anything in his entire life either, and all he knew was make long winded speeches in Senate.
I'm not so sure of that.
Not saying that the current election isnt of prime importance. Just dispense with the most important election nonsense. Not understanding what got us here to begin with is a recipe for future fatal mistakes.
Obama was elected for two reasons... Bat-shite crazy McCain and Mormon loving Romney... Two men who never should have been in the positions they were put in. Republicans made the incorrect selection two elections in a row... Just like the Democrats have with Hillary and Sleepy Joe.
The government is run by lifers. Presidents come, presidents go, but these guys are forever.
*************
Its true that there’s a permanent bureaucracy. But those ‘lifers’ are nearly all Democrats. DC is infested with them and worse, they have weaponized their agencies against conservatives.
Anyone who works inside a DC bureaucracy will find their career quickly stunted for saying anything that is remotely in agreement with Trump — or anything conservative for that matter.
The libs have an iron grip on the federal bureaucracy. And increasingly on the military.
Well, I can see your point. But I see this as more so, because this last year alone has delivered up what looks like the very impetus to push us into permanent tyranny. The behavior not just with an ethereal virus and the mob rule with condoned riots, etc, just shows us where we are headed undeniably.
McCain and Romney were lousy candidates, but nobody else running was any more likely to win.
I concur.
I wonder how many of his 60-some ‘czars’ and/or their appointees are still in positions and still doing damage.
I posted early on that it would take half-a-century to clean up the BO mess. That assumes, of course, electing pro-American politicians for the foreseeable.
Trump’s biggest error was in his not cleaning house in early 2017. However, he did have a hostile Congress — even though both chambers were controlled by Republicans.
No. Everything was emerging at that time. Now we have Big Tech in 2020. The Left has taken over the Democratic Party. Those factors were not really in place in ‘08. My opinion.
But if Democrats take over the White House, the Senate, and further strengthen their House majority, it's all over. That's because with total government control, Dems can eliminate the filibuster, pack the Court, and encouraged by their quick success, can then pack the Senate & the House, by creating a bunch of new states. Of course, President Harris will likely name Bernie Sanders as Sec. of State, Sec. of Commerce, or Sec. of Defense (over the weekend, AOC already angrily demanded it). Harris hasn't even been elected President yet and AOC is already chomping at the bit, angrily screaming for a Secretary Bernie Sanders. And that would be just the start.
So yeah, this election is kind of important.
I cant disagree with you about Bush in retrospect, but going back 20 years knocks out a lot of lifetimes of the current generation voting. Yes, in retrospect, Bush set the stage for Obama. But Obama wasnt a foregone predestined outcome.
Well there’s a certain type of person that’s willing to get paid a good 30% less in exchange for being impossible to fire. And they don’t believe in things like merit and perseverance.
The republicans ran a worthless POS against Obama in ‘08, who really should have just been honest and admitted he was a secret democrat. It’s hard to predict how much the “war hero” would have screwed us over, especially when it comes to SC picks. Playing Monday morning QB with that unknown is wide open and really not retro-predictable.
The GOP idiots in power picked traitor Juan McCain without any input from the base. Who then intentionally threw the election so Obama would win. In the early days, any of us who said anything negative about Juan got flamed here on FreeRepublic.
It certainly was a significant election.
Get over it and vote for Trump.
