Gentlemen, express yourselves by means of which non'cartridge disposable razor you have used.
I am moving away from Schick ST2's because 12 razors for $12.97 is not conducive to my budget, even with "sensitive skin"!
I use Walmart brand 5-blade razor, 4 to a pack. They last a looooong time. Cheaper than Harry’s and DSC...
Gillette was getting expensive but the last straw was when they started putting the replacement blades behind a locked case and you had to go fetch a store clerk to open it up for you. No thanks. I don't need that kind of hassle.
I get the blades replenished in the mail every two months and never even have to think about it. Also, I've expanded my order to include Harry's shampoo, hair gel and body wash. All they need to do is add toothpaste and deodorant to their lineup and it's one-stop shopping for my toiletry needs.
Reading through this thread- the *Harry’s folk convinced me.
Same here. Braun all the way
This tread brings to mind a story I heard a long time ago. I don’t remember all the details but a lady swallowed a Wilkinson razor blade. She gave herself a tonsillectomy, a hysterectomy, an appendectomy, gave her husband a vasectomy, cut the finger of a casual friend and still got seven good shaves.
Personna Med Prep blades. I started using them two years ago and have never looked back.
My safety razor is a 1964 Gillette Slim adjustable.
Get DOLLAR STORE.
Get an old school safety razor. Feather brand blades are about $15/100 and will shave like nothing else. Start with Proraso pre shave cream. Get a good badger bristle brush and a cake of soap. Enjoy your shave.
Yep, retirement cut back on the amount spent on razors. I shave about every third or fourth day, so the blades last a long time.
I still prefer Gillette products and use their Mach 3 in the big open areas. Then I finish with an old Gillette Sensor to get under my nose and for sideburns. The monster, low-angle 3-blade and 4-blade razors just can’t get under the nose.
Store brand (Meijer) green ones (they have blue but those suck).
Personna platinum DE here. Never heard of Med Prep. The platinum are as nice as old Gillette Platinum Plus. Razor is ~1990 Gillette like pic in comment 28. Soap is Col Conk. (Amazon, all under $20 / year)
Stick with Schick.
Cheap razors are for the dumb.
And buy online at Walmart...

I get the Personna Med Prep blades by the box of 100 from this outfit. I tried 6-10 different brands of blades when I started using a safety razor three years ago. These turned out to be the best for my skin and razor.
I hate the Gillette ads but their Mach 3 is the best.

“After a hot shower, any disposable razor works fine for me.”
That’s the key right there...hot shower and a cheap Bic. Oh, and bar soap.
> Thats the key right there...hot shower and a cheap Bic. <
By golly, thats exactly what I use. A cheap Bic.
try the old double sided safety razor. you know old school where you put a razor blade into a metal thing and tighten the handle . its for real the best shave for me by far just go slow or the cuts can be brutal, the shaver wont irritate the skin and its a super good clean shave. Much cheaper than all that fancy stuff and a better shave.
Merkur 34C razor here as well. Feather brand blades, Proraso shave soap with silver tip badger hair brush. I’ll never go back to crappy cartridges. And yes, very inexpensive.
