How will a 747 fly?
Windmills, batteries or possibly men shoveling coal into the steam engine?

Rubber bands.

“on the plane as a propeller..........”

Everyone knows propellers don’t really make the airplane fly. They’re just there to keep the pilot cool. You ought to see him sweat when they stop turning.

24 Oct: The Hill: Biden’s oil stance jars Democrats in tough races
By Alexander Bolton
Joe Biden’s vow to phase out the oil industry at Thursday’s debate creates a problem for Democratic candidates in red-leaning states and swing House districts as it gives Republicans an opening to tie them to their party’s left wing...

“Biden has rolled out nothing short of an entirely left-wing economic agenda and has never been forced to defend it on a public stage until Thursday,” said Josh Holmes, a Republican strategist and McConnell’s former chief of staff.
Holmes said Biden’s comments on oil could have “profound effect” in states such as Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Texas and others were there is what he called “a culture of energy production.”
“I’ve always thought that reminding the American people what economic policy came out of the Obama-Biden administration is a powerful reelection message for Donald Trump,” he added.

Biden’s remarks will give Republicans a chance to put the economy and regulation in the spotlight for the final 10 days of the campaign, something they’ve wanted to do for months...
Biden’s statement also put vulnerable House Democrats on the defensive...

Years ago articles would intermittently appear that some parent set up a bicycle driven ergonometer so his kids would have to pedal and store energy to watch TV. Anyone who wants to get rid of fossil fuels needs to do this for a month.

The general population is so scientifically illiterate that anyone who believes wind or solar can power everything in the US needs to live by those means for a month or shut their trap. They have no idea what it takes to generate energy, and like the previous poster said, how amazing that 7 lbs of gas can push heavy vehicles for miles!

The insane green new deal wants to retrofit every building in the US for energy efficiency. Aside from being an excuse to exercise total control over everyone and the fact they’d be picked off on the way up the farmer’s 1000’ driveway, they’re idiots for thinking this would be a net save of energy. Like cash for clunkers...how many BTU’s would it take to replace the destroyed automobiles? Mining, transporting, fabricating, assembly...

Most greenies are idiots and should be forced to live by their philosophy. I have a S-I-L like this and she PW my brother so they’re both leftists. They don’t know enough science to even enter the conversation.

Here is the answer:

If all the passengers pedal hard enough, the electric motors will keep the propellers going fast enough to keep the plane in the sky.

I know, i know, but that word felt righ, at the moment. HOWEVER, is not the propeller mechanism, a wheel? As far as aircraft go.

Are not turbine blades part of a wheel?

Killing fossil fuels is a stake in America’s heart. Biden is intent upon destroying America...turning it into a 3rd world country...making it easy for the Chinese to move in. I’ve kidded the wife about leaving the country, but it may be time to consider some alternatives. We’ll know in a couple of weeks.

“Now where would they put that windmill? 8-)
on the plane as a propeller”

It would be the world’s first perpetual motion airplane. The windmill would make the electricity and propel the airplane all at the same time.

You only have to look at California who has been doing wind and solar the longest. Graph out the energy outputs of hydro, natural gas, nuclear, coal etc (not sure what they’re still doing now) and you would see they all make lines fairly similar across the graph. Even combined, wind and solar is a flat line across the bottom. It’s ridiculous. Solar panels are extremely toxic as well. Windmills take more energy to make than they produce in their lifetime. It’s a joke and we’re the ones being played.

"HOWEVER, is not the propeller mechanism, a wheel?"\ wheel [(h)wēl] NOUN a circular object that revolves on an axle and is fixed below a vehicle or other object to enable it to move easily over the ground.

I lie awake at night, too. Ex wife was gaslighted by a predatory lesbian. My one dog died of Lyme that I did not catch soon enough. I stood by my father as he died due to my mother’s bad driving...etc. But never for environmental issues....

I had similar thoughts this past week when I was driving in rural Minnesota. The corn and soybean harvest is in full swing with behemoth combines harvesting the grain, large semi trucks being loaded with the grain and huge tractors disking the empty field in preparation for spring planting. All of these farm vehicles run on diesel. There are no battery powered combines, tractors or large trucks currently available. Consider even if battery power could be applied to farm equipment where would they recharge in the middle of the harvest? Large combines are not designed for traveling distance on roads and move at rigor mortis speed (try passing one on a rural road). Moving a combine to some distant recharging station could take hours and recharging the large batteries likely needed would consume even more time. In the meantime the harvest is rotting in the field.

“Shaft,” maybe, with an axle being a specific type of shaft.

What is intriguing to me is that with half a million charging stations for the cars and trucks and apparently airplanes coupled with the industrial electricity that we need, how will they generate the electricity???
