The NBA season has come and gone, but certain decisions from this past year are continuing to be relitigated in league circles. This past week, one agent came out of the woodwork and publicly blasted all parties involved for the social justice messaging that took place over the past few months.

This past week, The Athletic published results from a survey it conducted with 20 agents around the NBA. While they discussed a number of topics, what stood out most was one anonymous agent’s rant about the impact of Black Lives Matter (BLM) messaging on the league as a whole.

“They initially did a great job by putting the bubble together and they completely s*** the bed with all this nonsense,” he said.

My wife and I became season ticket holders for the first time ever for our favorite local MLS team. Then the team started throwing this BLM stuff in our face including wearing BLM t-shirts during warmup. Enough already.

We called to cancel our season tickets and we were a week too late to do that so we told them that we will be canceling for the next season. Of course they wanted to know why we were canceling. We told them that we want to come to the games to get away from "reality" and just enjoy a soccer game without all the political BS. We also said if you really want to help black people, perhaps the team could support the black businesses that the BLM and Antifa members are destroying.

Brought his up with our millennial daughter about canceling our season tickets and why. She told me she couldn't disagree more and didn't even want to discuss it. I could see that she was a bit taken aback by it. Out of my 4 kids, she is the one that is always trying to be the sympathizer with the poor and perceived oppressed. Sheesh.

Here's my prediction: next year (assuming we survive this year as a country) the NBA will really feel the hit in their pocket book, so they'll shift to a half-assed mea culpa, and start promoting pseudo-patriotic crap to make up for it and lure American suckers back into paying them good money. The question is whether most Americans will fall for it or not.
