Lost Tom Seaver, Bob Gibson and Whitey Ford in the same fortnight. That makes three. I guess Sandy Koufax is safe for a while longer.

Oops, Seaver died six weeks ago. Maybe Koufax ought to look out.

I wish I didn’t put his baseball card on the spokes of my stingray.

RIP Whitey, a kindly class act, and that’s coming from an old Brooklyn Dodger fan.

I expect to see Whitey removed from the HoF because of his name. At the very least someone will try.

So many greats gone....

At least we seasoned citizens got to see and appreciate them in their glory years.

That guy was just DOMINANT! He and Warren Spahn hooked up in the 1957 and 1958 Series. Wow, what a pair of lefties!

I used to listen to the Yankee World Series games in school with my little crystal radio. Earphone cord hidden under my shirt.

For the youngsters, no battery required:

So true... the era when it was about the game. A time gone forever.

I grew up in the Bay Area, my dad took me to quite a few Giants games at Candlestick. Willie Mays was my first sports hero. Seeing these greats pass on has been tough.

I was there too back in the day! Those names are all engraved in my mind and are as contemporary as if they were still with us and still playing. RIP
