In my last post I left the thread by asking why there were no barking dogs.
One fellow Freeper got the reference to Sherlock Holmes.
One can learn a lot from old Sherlock, the same for Sun Tzu.
One can channel Mr. Occam and his razor but I prefer the idea that every solution is a big fuzzy grey ball of possibilities, each of which has a probability attached to it. Most important of all is good old-fashioned horse sense.
Thanks to GOFHS (sounds like goofus) I have developed an operative theory that whatever one hears in the open media is what the powers that be want us to hear, (and by extension, the enemy, who also gets a portion of his news from the same sources). All stories have been massaged to some degree so as to shape public perceptions," or, in short, "EVERYTHING in the open media is propaganda." Most propaganda is largely true, making it easier to slip in a falsity among a myriad of facts or shade those facts to some degree. It can be used for both good or bad, both the White-Hats and the Black-Hats use it all the time.
In my case this view developed during the course of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In the lead-up to the invasion the public was told about the prolific stockpiles of Weapons of Mass Destruction, the large majority of which were chemical. Let's take a look at a story from the New York Sun...
"Saddam's WMD Moved to Syria, An Israeli Says By IRA STOLL, Staff Reporter of the Sun | December 15, 2005"
"Saddam Hussein moved his chemical weapons to Syria six weeks before the war started, Israel's top general during Operation Iraqi Freedom says. ...Lieutenant General Moshe Yaalon, asserted that Saddam spirited his chemical weapons out of the country on the eve of the war. "...
Perhaps he did, or maybe he didn't. What matters is the fact that this story appeared in open public media with the quoted source being Israel's top general during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Note that this article appeared some two and a half years after the close of hostilities between regular forces of both countries.
I recall that in the early days of the conflict our armored troops had to go into combat in full MOPP suits. I highly doubt that ANY military commander that cared the least whit about his troops or their mission would have drastically cut their effectiveness by imposing such hardships based on a baseless lie. I also recall hearing mention of intercepted comms between Iraqi troops in the field begging headquarters not to use their chemical weapons because they had no protective gear themselves.
In the aftermath of the invasion we learned that there were NO WMDs ! Nothing to see here, move along.
I wondered at the time if the lack of evidence of WMD as presented by our government was not intentional, starting with the fact that if we admitted we found them, WE would be responsible for the stewardship of the munitions. They would have become a major target of the jahadis, the WMD would have to have been guarded 24/7. From the WIKI page... "According to the Pentagon, ...230,000 tons... of 590,000 tons... total of ordnance was looted, providing a significant source of ammunition for the Iraqi insurgency.
Just imagine how bad things would have been if the insurgents had been using chemical IEDs.
On top of that there is the problem of disposal. When we wanted to dispose of the chemical weapons at the Dugway Proving Grounds, we had to build a special incineration facility that cost some hundred million dollars. If we didn't do the same in Iraq, I guarantee that before long all sorts of shysters would be coming out of the woodwork and suing the U.S. in international courts every time somebody's goat got sick.
On the other hand, given that Syria already had an extensive WMD stockpile under heavy military security, I can see some back channel communications to Sadam saying that we'll let you you move your munitions to Syria or you can keep them in your inventory and if you attempt to use them on our troops prepare for us to use tactical nukes back on you.
So why did the Israeli general and several other sources in the know give out stories in the public media ? Obviously, those enemies both directly and peripherally involved knew the truth of the matter and I am hearing a pre-echo of Q informing the world that "we know all" without giving away any sources or methods. Just a little something to make the bad guys think twice about trying anything stupid as well as creating a smokescreen by simultaneously denying their existence, negating the push-back from those who would attempt to make an international issue over our control of the WMD.
That is how I got my first inkling that there was a 4 dimensional chess game being played right in front of our noses.
Thus endith my screed for the day and I still haven't gotten to the non-barking dogs I promised you all, but, as it turned out I thought I should probably set the stage by sharing my thoughts as to how I approach the news, or as a caller to Rush called them, the "Mockingbird Media" which makes way more sense than the moniker "Mainstream Media." A search on "Mockingbird Media" will reveal why.
While all this started with a response to a post concerning the first debate I find the subject broadening to include areas all over the Qverse. I wrote a twenty some odd page screed in the month leading up to the 2004 election and had some positive feedback. For some reason I seem to be the go to guy when friends have political questions. A lot of what I'm writing here has already been commented on with those friends and I'm willing to share my views with my fellow Qpers if you so desire. I can see, somewhere down the road these posts being collected and published in the hope of red-pilliing some folks before the election.
El Rusbo has said on many occasions that, as students of the Limbaugh Institute it is our job to take what we've learned and share our knowledge with those of low information. As I am also a member of the Freeper and Qper institutes and somebody called to duty as a Digital Warrior I am doing what I can for the cause and that is to produce my own form of testimony in hopes of helping as best as I am able.
The only problem now is that I'm hopelessly behind on the Q thread.
Next time.... Bow Wow Woof Woof. I hope.

In reading what I just wrote I came upon a glaring error that must be addressed. If Sadam moved all his chemical weapons to Syria the premise of U.S. control of them after the war falls apart, therefore the logical solution would be to infer that not all the WMDs were moved before the start of the war.
The Dogs Bark, but the Caravan Moves On.
MOSSAD spread dis-info to foment an ME war.
Isreal is last.
Thanks
Keep up the very informative posts
Great info. Some of which I thought about at the time.
More to say, but later. Gotta be out today.
+++!!
At the time there were various accounts of caravans of trucks with wmd sent to Syria. And some buried.
ADNM stated:

“Saddam Hussein moved his chemical weapons to Syria six weeks before the war started, Israel’s top general during Operation Iraqi Freedom says. ...Lieutenant General Moshe Yaalon, asserted that Saddam spirited his chemical weapons out of the country on the eve of the war. “...
Perhaps he did, or maybe he didn’t. ...”
“I recall that in the early days of the conflict our armored troops had to go into combat in full MOPP suits....”
“In the aftermath of the invasion we learned that there were NO WMDs ! Nothing to see here, move along....”
[I noticed all that just as you did, ADNM, and the inconsistencies bothered the heck out of me. Your commentary following that is fascinating. Thanks for the great post! BTW, I like your sense of humor at the end!. LOL! tex.
