So a town is paralyzed? Innocent people will lose their money, lives and/or businesses if a law enforcement decision doesn’t go their way? How is this different from the savages and democrats promising to burn the country down if the Republicans install their Supreme Court pick?

You know this won’t be the last time.

Hence my earlier point about LE serving politicians’ political ends.

I’m with you. If an officer is unwilling to serve the public, he should resign.

> Teachers get beat up and assaulted all the time in school. <

Thank you for mentioning that. I was an urban school teacher for decades. Many of my fellow teachers were assaulted. And a few were hurt so bad that they were forced into an early retirement.

I myself was hit numerous times. One time I was breaking up a fight - a small kid was being bullied - and I got hit so hard that I had to go to the hospital.

But few people care to consider that. We get summers off. So we’re garbage. It doesn’t matter if we’re up until 11PM grading papers during the school year. And it doesn’t matter if we get hurt trying to defend the defenseless.

Not only is it three counts of “not murder”, but it arises from risking the lives of the people in the neighboring apartment when his rounds penetrated into that apartment.

No charges whatsoever regarding Briana’s death. Nothing.

It’s going to be an interesting evening, and not just in Louisville.

Absolutely. The harm caused by no-knock warrants—not just in lives lost but in squander of the public trust—far outweighs any real benefits.

I don’t think Walker was charged, just the policeman.

“I myself was hit numerous times. One time I was breaking up a fight...”

And you may well have spent more time in hospital than the kid who hit you was suspended. Very unlikely that the kid was charged with an actual crime. Many school districts actively discourage teachers from pressing charges.

Yes indeed. In the district where I worked it was a firing offense to call 911. You were supposed to call the school security office instead. That way everything could be hushed up.

A good friend of mine was attacked by a student armed with a knife. My friend got cut up pretty bad. He called 911 as he was trying to fend off the student. The school district rained hell down on my friend. How dare you call 911! My friend was lucky he wasn’t fired over that.

Many people want to blame teachers, or their union, for student misbehavior. They are aiming at the wrong target. It’s the school board that sets the policy. And no one else.

Sorry, but did anyone mention that the AG seemed to say there was NO such thing there as a no-knock?

Sounds like the narrative is completely wrong. Again.

The police did knock, and did announce themselves. Then, an accomplice of the dead Breanna, shot at the cops.

I absolutely love the idea that only elected sheriffs can operate SWAT teams. That is quite brilliant, actually.

I don’t think Walker was charged, just the policeman.

He was charged, then released, without predjudice, which means he could be charged in the future.

Yes, that is what I have heard as well, although there is dispute among witnesses as to whether they actually announced who they were.

I was writing of no-knock warrants generally, which are overused and have lead to a number of unnecessary deaths over the years, including deaths of innocent people, like the couple killed in Houston a couple years ago.

It does appear that a no-knock warrant was issued unnecessarily in this case, even if it was not executed without knocking. Also, there does not appear to have been any good reason to execute this warrant with a forced entry after midnight, which carries its own risks. As the commenter to whom I was replying pointed out, anyone might reach for their gun when they hear someone pounding on their door in the middle of the night.

Dynamic entry into someone’s home should be rare and reserved for the most extraordinary circumstances. There is no reason to use it for a routine narcotics investigation. Even the National Tactical Officers Association has agreed with this.

More reasons to add to the cornucopia of reasons why we home schooled and are strongly in favor of a complete gutting of the public school system. NO department of education. School choice, Real government support of home schooling efforts, rather than harassment and opposition.

None of which is going to happen.

Wondering the same thing. Details anyone?

A 45 will easily punch through a couple of walls in most apartments. Seen it happen. Another reason not to execute this sort of warrant and start a gun battle in that environment. Damn lucky they didn’t kill someone in another apartment.

Idiots. I would love to know the names of the police superior and the judge who authorized this fiasco. As usual, the people who are really responsible for this stuff just skate.
