My father told me that if you have to tell people who you are, you are not that. Tough people don’t need to tell people they are tough, you just know it. In Ellen’s case, when you have to continually be reminded that she is nice, it’s highly likely she isn’t. Another example is when the media tried to sell Ryan as a conservative.
Was her household staff populated by illegal aliens like the rest of Hollywood? If so, I neither feel sorry for them, or necessarily believe them. There’s no way all this coming out has nothing to do with her buddy buddy relationship with GWB.

She sounds like a tyrant but this one sounds like 'what's the problem?' to me. She's paying someone to make her a latte and tells them how she wants it, she has some basis to complain if they can't or won't make it that way.
The fact that Mariah spoke out against her is a strong indicator. Contrary to popular belief Mariah is extremely sharp, intelligent, graceful, and exceptionally kind and generous to the people who work/ed for her, of which I was briefly one.
