New York parish anti-racism pledge prompts controversy

A New York priest said his parish added a “pledge for racial justice” to Masses as part of its anti-racism initiatives, and that no one at the parish is required to participate in it. While video of the pledge has been the subject of criticism in the media and from some Catholics, the Archdiocese of New York has not commented on the matter.

“Under the sponsorship of the Pastoral Council, we held a prayer service for the victims of racism and commissioned our Sacred Space ministry to produce a display so that there would be heightened awareness. In that context, someone found a version of the pledge from a Unitarian Church in Texas,” Fr. Kenneth Boller, SJ, pastor of St. Francis Xavier Parish in New York City, told CNA Sept. 2.

“Anti-racism” - it’s everyone’s first beer.

The “SJ” is all you need to know. I was educated at a Jesuit college and one of my sons at a Jesuit High School. I’m sure there are some who aren’t left wing hacks, but in more than four decades I’ve yet to meet one

NONE of this was about "racism" but black men high out of their mind, total menace to society and who fight the police.

We NEVER hear about the black on black slaughter and the black holocaust of abortion by these same virtue signalling malcontents.

Are these the same priests who don’t know the difference between a boy and a girl?

Adolf Hitler once referred to Heinrich Himmler as ‘’Our own Ignatius Loyola’’.

Just one question. Is it against the law to be racist? It certainly seems so. I am not a racist. And we are supposed to have freedom of speech. So, is it against the law to be a racist?

Asking for a freind.

BLM Inc. is a Marxist, anti-nuclear family, anti-white, Anti-American organization with many millions of dollars in outside funding. It does not mean “I like blacks like Dr. Martin Luther King did.” It means I hate America’s free republic. Don’t be fooled, Christian church leaders.

If it gets into power with the Dems, it will suppress and destroy any freedom to worship God in America, just as their associates today in Communist China. China is holding down and thoroughly destroying Christianity actively. Catholic mass has to include rituals for Chinese leaders along with Christ. No one under age 18 is allowed to attend any services or enter a Church. Several dissenting religious spokesmen “disappeared.”

Is that attractive to the naive people here in the various chruches? Really?

The notion of “white privilege,” which the priest mentions in his sermon, is racist.

We are all equal under the law.

In the way you are asking I would say no. However, if by example, a manager of a company in the hiring process denied someone employment based on race, I suppose that would be illegal. But then it gets into cloudy areas because whites and white men especially seem to be openly attacked and there is the “you can’t oppress the oppressor” mentality which many deem racist.
