I was possibly exposed to COVID 19 over the weekend and was surprised to see this on the CDC Website:
A couple of things: 1. Exposed means being closer than 6 feet to a KNOWN or suspected COVID carrier for at least 15 minutes. In that criteria isn't met then the CDC doesn't consider it exposure to COVID 19.
But note the note:
"Note: This is irrespective of whether the person with COVID-19 or the contact was wearing a mask or whether the contact was wearing respiratory personal protective equipment (PPE)"
In other words WEARING mask doesn't matter. If you meet that criteria you were exposed whether you were both wearing masks, or whether one was wearing a mask or whether nobody was wearing a mask.
Masks don't matter to the CDC.
Masks are not so much about public health or even virtue signaling; they are about displaying absolute government power.
And this is all a preview/test run by the tyrants to see how far they can go imposing their will.
So far it’s pretty far.
Sorry dinodino, but masks are not effective, and can be harmful. This Dr. has a review of the various studies with links to each study. Follow the REAL science-excerpt and link:

Comment: The following review of the scientific literature on wearing surgical and other facemasks as a means of preventing the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 and thus preventing contraction of ‘Covid-19’ was published a month ago. And absent some miraculous suspension of decades of hard science on the transmission of viruses, it’s settled...
Abstract
Masks and respirators do not work. There have been extensive randomized controlled trial (RCT) studies, and meta-analysis reviews of RCT studies, which all show that masks and respirators do not work to prevent respiratory influenza-like illnesses, or respiratory illnesses believed to be transmitted by droplets and aerosol particles. ...snip...
Precautionary Principle turned on its head with masks
In light of the medical research, therefore, it is difficult to understand why public-health authorities are not consistently adamant about this established scientific result, since the distributed psychological, economic and environmental harm from a broad recommendation to wear masks is significant, not to mention the unknown potential harm from concentration and distribution of pathogens on and from used masks. In this case, public authorities would be turning the precautionary principle on its head.

My wife and I do not wear a mask. We have never had a flu shot either.
I have had to go to Walmart twice in August. The employee said don’t you have a mask? I said, no I prefer to breathe clean air, because lack of oxygen makes me dizzy.
The employee said that’s ok-go right on in. About 5 people behind me came up to me in the store and told me that they agreed with me, but they just wear a mask to avoid the hassle.
The next time I went, same thing, except there were more people without masks.
When Walmart started requiring masks, I started shopping at a different grocery that doesn’t require them. And I told the cashier to be sure and tell his manager that I had switched from Walmart and why.
I don’t wear a mask and have never had a flu shot either. I was just researching some interesting studies, and was surprised to see that if you get it 2 years in a row, you are actually more likely to get the flu! Ha.
Yup. We live in Nevada County and very few of us believe in the mask gimmick. When we venture down to Contra Costa, youd think there was a plague or something from a scI-fi movie. Sad.
People with those face diapers look like aliens from another planet—or a lamprey. Ha. Ha.
Face diapers ... I love it.

They are only effective in hiding the faces of the thugs looting and rioting . It’s all about keeping their status quo power by instilling FEAR.
:-) Thanks.
Im sure Walmart cares...so much.
Im sure Walmart cares...so much.

If enough people stopped going to Walmart and went else where-Yes, they might care.
Meantime, supporting OTHER places keeps competitors who aren’t bowing to the NWO tyrants in business and competition is a good thing.
And I bet the competition does care - that’s why they weren’t so ignorant about requiring masks. Ha.
“I guess my question then is WHY does the CDC consider masks irrelevant when it comes to exposure to COVID 19?”
The better question is why do you think they matter. Is it because you have been told by the liberal media they matter?

You know, hubby and I were just talking about that the other night. How coinky dinky it was that the switch to requiring masks happened and then along came the stepped up riots etc.
And I think you are correct about FEAR—every time you see someone with that face diaper on, you are reminded about WuHuFlu. And FEAR is leverage to get people to give up their freedoms.
If masks work, then bio labs certainly could save a lot of money by letting lab technicians wear pieces of cloth over their faces, instead of expensive pressurized suits. Even better, wear a cloth with BLM printed on it, and youre doubly virtuous (um, I mean safe).
The mask is a symbol of submission. It is like the hijab required for Muslim women.
Watch a Muslim woman in a Muslim country get harassed for not wearing a hajab, and it will look the same as an American being harassed by mask nazis.
