Trying to find some answers. One of both of the women at the top of the SCOTUS list have recently gone thru senate confirmation hearings for federal judicial positions.
I vaguely remember various other people being switched from one position to another without a new hearing being required. Is this true for this position too? If your hearing for a judicial position is recent (2017ish) must you go before the judicial committee again or can you just be called/sent to the senate floor for a vote ?

Joe Biden: Its estimated that 200 million people will die, probably by the time I finish this talk. Vote for Joe.
Millions and millions of empty houses and abandoned cars will soon be available for free.....

Democrats chose to set in motion rules changes to stack the court at the Circuit level and they chose to try to destroy Brett Kavanaughs life to keep the Supreme Court seat open.

Biden then told a couple of lies to persuade Republicans that abandoning their constitutional duty to help fill a Supreme Court vacancy was the “right” thing to do “deep down” inside.
“That includes this whole business of releasing a list of potential nominees that I would put forward,” Biden continued. “They’re now saying ... after Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away, they said, ‘Biden should release his list.’ It’s no wonder the Trump campaign asked that I release the list only after she passed away. It’s a game for them. It’s a play to gin up emotions and anger.”
Only the Trump campaign demanded that Biden release his list of Supreme Court nominees back when the president released his own list of nominees on September 9. And President Trump and his campaign have reiterated the demand several times since.

NIKK..I just have a combination of information from all different areas. Not too organized but I know how you think so its not a problem..LOL
But another Trump appointee who has gone through an appeals-court confirmation battle has suddenly landed on the short list. Judge Barbara Lagoa, of Florida, who is 52 years old, has served on the Eleventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals since last December.
While Barrett attracted considerable opposition and was confirmed by a 54 to 42 vote, Lagoa sailed though on a mostly bipartisan vote of 80 to 15.
Lagoa is the daughter of Cuban parents who fled Castros dictatorship and moved to Miami. She has said that her father had to give up his dream of becoming a lawyer because of Castro.
Born in 1967, she inherited her familys anti-Communism and served as a pro bono lawyer for the Miami family of six-year-old Elian Gonzalez. In 2000, Elians Miami relatives fought unsuccessfully to prevent his return to Cuba by the Clinton administration.
Lagoas heritage is one of several reasons that 26 Senate Democrats voted to confirm her in 2019. Among those in her corner was Californias Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Democrats might find it difficult to viciously attack Lagoa, given how many of them rely on Hispanic voters in the November elections.
That case was eventually decided by Lagoas Eleventh Circuit Court, where she joined the courts six-to-four majority decision to uphold a Florida law requiring nearly 800,000 former felons in the state to settle their court fines and fees before they regain the right to vote. She declared Floridas law reasonable: It falls to the citizens of the state of Florida and their elected state legislators, not to federal judges, to make any additional changes to it.
There is no doubt the organized Left would strenuously oppose Lagoa. The Alliance for Justice, a very left-wing group, issued an extensive attack on her decisions involving business and criminal-justice issues. AFJ claimed that Lagoa had been screened by the Federalist Society for her Florida supreme-court appointment.
It also fretted that she had been endorsed by the pro-tort-reform Florida Justice Reform Institute and the Florida Family Policy Council, a group of social conservatives.
Justice Lagoa has received numerous awards, including the Outstanding Women of Color award from the Black Law Student Association and the Caribbean Law Student Association at St. Thomas Law School. The award was presented for her outstanding contributions as a sitting judge on the Third DCA.

Like RBG, Judge Barbara Lagoa is a graduate of Columbia law school. 52 years old. Cuban-American. Former AUSA. 13 years as state appellate judge, 1 year on state supreme court. Joined CA11 in late 2019. Confirmed by 80-15 vote.
Judge Barbara Lagoa has been (or, at least at time of Senate questionnaire response, had been) a member of the Federalist Society since 1998. Received Judicial Leadership Award from National Hispanic Bar Association in 2019.

And worked pro bono to protect Elian Gonzalez from the clutches of Janet Reno.

I’m pretty sure Trump said Biden should put out list even before Sept 9. On numerous occasions.
