when I was in college we had some spirited discussions in some classes. I remember one Government professor that threw out some lefties ideas, and I along with a few others, would openly disagree. But never the vile political hatred you see today. I wish any university that allowed professors to talk politics instead of issues or ideologies, and that didn’t allow different points of view by professors and students, that they would lose federal funding.

President Trump has the right nominee at the right moment in American history.
When Ruth Bader Ginsburg died Friday evening, she did so with a message for posterity which, for all the history that Ginsburg might have made as a woman on the Supreme Court, was pristine in its self-description of her time on the Court.
“My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed,” she said.
The arrogance of that was par for Ginsburg’s course.
The fact that Republican women haven’t been represented on the Supreme Court since Sandra Day O’Connor rankles a bit; you’ve got to offer big parts of your base role models when you can.
Yes, yes, Ruth Bader Ginsburg lived an interesting life, and yes, yes, she was an accomplished woman.
Those things are beside the point. It is neither ghoulish nor inappropriate to look to the future of the United States Supreme Court upon her death rather than pay tribute to the life she lived.
After all, that life was for all practical purposes long since over months ago, when Ginsburg chose to spend her time on death’s door occupying space on the Supreme Court in an effort to outlast President Trump.
And Ginsburg practically begged us to engage in nominatorial exegesis upon her death with the unfortunate quote referenced above.
That her gambit failed, despite practically every responsible pundit and political voice in the country either whispering or shouting the lack of wisdom involved in Ginsburg persisting on the court long after she should have recognized her failing health and retired, is not the fault or responsibility of President Trump.

Agree. I think the NO PERSONALITY is what is bothering Nikk but it does actually make him a good choice. Mark my word: when Trump is re elected several of the conservative older members will step down. They will not make the RBG mistake thus denying a likely similar in philosophy replacement.

One of the reasons we think he plans ahead is because he’s always open to possible scenarios. He certainly would not (unless the time machine works) have exact knowledge of this year’s election fiasco. But he has a sense of the politics climate that has long been a part of DC society. Thus like the snake in poem he had to be prepared.
I love Abbott and Costello, and my favorite is Laural and Hardy. They did a short movie about inheriting some money, then bought an island to set up their own government so they wouldn’t have to pay taxes. Soon a bunch of busy bodies (like democrats) moved in and took over.
I’ll watch that later, I’m sure I can use the comic relief.

I think no personality is a negative for politics, but a plus for SCOTUS. Any arguments in SCOTUS should be based solely on the constitution and the facts, not feelings or personal beliefs, or the desire to be accepted by the DC crowd.
