At one time the female top of the class became teachers and nurses. When other professions that paid more opened up to women (law, medicine, engineering etc) those going into the teaching profession fame from the “C” students ranks. Those who lack the critical analytical skills to become higher skilled professionals. They are easily led by their superiors.

I was required to take three years of dance (ballet, etc). Now they take classes in multiple ways to wiggle your butt!
