Sources: Thanksgiving weekend start an option for Big Ten football

The Big Ten is discussing Thanksgiving weekend as one of several options to start its football season, sources told ESPN.

An early January start with an eight- or nine-game schedule at indoor venues has generated the most discussion so far, but pushing the season kickoff to around Thanksgiving also is under consideration.

I don't know how you guys/gals feel. But for me, the shutting down the Big Ten is absolutely coordinated. I am even more convinced with the Biden/Harris ad coming out yesterday blaming PDT's "mismanagement" of the Corona virus as being responsible for the cancellation of football. Isn't it just amazing when you look at the representation of the Big Ten: Pennsylvania (Penn State), Ohio (Ohio State), Michigan (Spartans and Wolverines), Minnesota (Golden Gophers), Wisconsin (Badgers), Iowa (Hawkeyes). It might as well be called the Swing State Conference. And now the rumbling of talks considering kicking off three weeks after the election?

The SEC, ACC and Big12 will poach Pac12 and Big10 and casual fans this fall, driving up ratings for those conferences.

By January only Big10 fans will be watching because sports fans will be moving on to watching college basketball conference play.
