(CNN) President Donald Trump's relentless effort to undermine Joe Biden as "Sleepy Joe" backfired this week when the former vice president delivered a forceful speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination. Now the pressure is on the President to right his own campaign as he heads into the Republican National Convention next week.
Trump, a former television producer and the ultimate showman, is heavily involved in the planning for the four-day extravaganza that will give him an opportunity for a reset. He is aiming to create a more dynamic program than the Democrats with more live programming and audience interaction to lift his poll numbers.
Over the course of the summer, Trump has fallen behind Biden in national polls amid voters' disapproval of the President's handling of the coronavirus pandemic and the protests against police brutality and systematic racism following the death of George Floyd. He must now match Biden's well-received appearance and try to generate excitement for his reelection campaign at a time when many Americans are rightly focused on the pandemic.
Looking to bolster his image before a consortium of conservative groups Friday morning, Trump once again compared himself to Abraham Lincoln and refuted the efforts by Democrats to portray him as a leader who has shirked responsibility for fighting the virus while deepening the polarization in this country with his race-baiting campaign.

Trump’s approval numbers went up during the democrat convention.
Because all they do all day is manipulate their readers in order to raise polls (how else would they?), they project onto Trump that it has nothing to do with the content of the message delivered at the conventions, but rather the fanciness of the float that drives by.
These people are an empty box.
It’s not going to take much pressure.
If Trump delivered a Sermon on the Mount level speech, the media would say Biden’s speech was way better. This article is merely setting the stage for their trashing of his speech afterwards.
I thought the pressure was on CNN to Fact Check all the National Socialist Democrat Workers Party speakers??

Same thing would happen to Hillary in 2016. They would dope her up and lead her around, then she would go back into her den to collapse.

I always thought the Clash were wannabe punks who simply lacked the talent of the Ramones and the swagger of the Sex Pistols. But lots of people loved them.
They came onstage and did their thing. They received applause (in Philly we threw orange peels at them - Joe Strummer then said "how many of you Who fans want us to leave?" and the crowd roared...bad move, kid.)
Then The Ooo came onstage and destroyed them...even the material from It's Hard (which is not a good album) was great. The Who lacked Moonie but the older and tighter Who were the Kings of Rock that day - Townshend bounced his Telecaster (but didn't smash it) and Entwistle allegedly bashed has bass. Roger sounded like a vocal deity. Kids were air guitaring on the side walls of the stadium (they'd have died if they fell off). The Who closed with Twist And Shout. I saw a great fight between two drunk dudes on my way out of JFK stadium.
Clash = Biden.
Who=Trump.

One way or another, the grit of real life will have to be faced. The liberals escapism avoidance of personal responsibility for short term nihilism at the cost of independent thought is not a viable long term plan.

Don’t forget that an interview with Biden and Harris will be on 20/20 Sunday night...We were having cable TV problems yesterday and I caught the promo on ABC - I think. Poor slob - answered questions and looked over at Harris for her to confirm what he said and she sat there (clear across the room) with her trademark dopy smile nodding her head.

In effect, the left wing media is crowing about the fact that Joe Biden made it through his speech without suffering a total meltdown. Yeah, that’s a pretty impressive feat.
