The efficacy of a 2-month treatment with oral colostrum in the prevention of flu episodes compared with anti-influenza vaccination was evaluated. Groups included healthy subjects without prophylaxis and those receiving both vaccination and colostrum. After 3 months of follow-up, the number of days with flu was 3 times higher in the non-colostrum subjects.
The colostrum group had 13episodes versus 14 in the colostrum +vaccination group, 41in the group without prophylaxis, and 57 in nontreated subjects. Part 2 of the study had a similar protocol with 65very high-risk cardiovascular subjects, all of whom had prophylaxis. The incidence of complications and hospital admission was higher in the group that received only a vac-cination compared with the colostrum groups. Colostrum, both in healthy subjects and high-risk cardiovascular patients, is at least 3 times more effective than vaccination to prevent flu and is very co

Anyways, Colostrum is expensive, but as mentioned, may very well help those with the above mentioned conditions, and might just have a protective effects against flu, and possibly Covid as well? (Not sure about the last part at this point- will have to look into it further)
Colostrum seems to be very well tolerated in folks not allergic to milk- not sure what an effective dose would be- soem articles state 1 gram 1-2 times a day, some say as little as 400 mg, some as high as 60 grams- but that would be cost prohibitive to many- The study in the article used only 400 mg once a day- I've seen other studies for bowel issues and upper respiratory infections mention taking about 6 grams a day- I've also seen articles state that athletes take about 10-20 grams a day, but again, this can be expensive-
Where do they get it?.....................
forgot to mention, colostrum appears to have a healing effect on intestinal diseases, and clams down Citokine issues so that the body doesn’t keep attacking itself- from what I’ve been reading- which if this is the case, might be beneficial for covid- though again, not sure at this point- apparently colostrum both boosts immune system (which is important in preventing things like flu from taking over strongly in a body, and also calms Citokine, which is what causes health issues in people that get immune compromised conditions, and in folks who get things like Covid- from what i gather, the body begins attacking itself due to overactive immune system and high amount of Citokines? If so, it seems the trick would be to both boost immune system, and prevent the body’s immune system from going haywire, and attacking itself- It is claimed that Colostrum can accomplish this-
LOL. Don’t ask.
You can get it from healthfood stores, amazon, walmart etc- it’s a fairly common supplement- I’d never even heard of it before- or payed any attention to it when in places like Walmart- but ran across the article this morning- looks kinda promising for folks with bowel issues possibly- and possibly for folks who wish to avoid flu if the article’s study is a true indication of the effects of it- hopefully it is- would rather take colostrum than get vaccine during flu seasons if possible- not that I’m anti-Flu vaccine, but if there’s an all natural alternative that works better? I’m all in-
Sorry- did you mean where do they get it from? Human mothers, or Cows- in the first 6 hours after they give birth- it’s been called a ‘babies first vaccination’ because of how effective it is for a baby’s immune boosting effect- The first 6 hours, the properties are supposed to be very strong- and some have said a baby cow would die without it because they couldn’t fight anything off- dunno if that’s true or not- but it’s supposed to be packed with good for you stuff to help a baby get a strong start in life-
Kefir is easier to find and much cheaper.
Thanks, I’ll check that out- Bovine Colostrum is pretty easy to find, but yeah, it’s expensive- but does have very unique properties to it- mainly it’s the baby’s first immune boosting ‘inoculation’ so to speak
Here’s a blurb on how it works:
“As if there wasnt enough healing properties with immune milk, colostrum also contain proline rich polypeptides, or PRPs. PRPs are responsible for colostrums immune modulating effects. Immune modulation can be described as the dual directional intelligent effect of colostrum on the immune system. It is studied that, when consumed, colostrum will turn down an over active immune system (as in autoimmune diseases) OR turn up a deficient immune system (caused by stress or disease).”

STFU with all this magic pill snake oil cure crap!I
You can guzzle all the Clorox you want and shove UV lights up your rectum, but keep the stupid to yourself, lol
This is why is losing
Yeah medical studies be damned- you’re right0- just go through life- blind- thanks for posting and waking everyone up to the fact that science sucks- You’ve done a great service to all of mankind- post more often- we value your wisdom-
oh an noone said it was a cure- learn to read- nowhere was a cure mentioned for anything- You can find all kinds of studies on colostrum- scientifically done studies- If you don’t wish to listen to science- that’s your prerogative- the rest of us will look at scientific studies and make determinations all on our own thank you very much-
IgG is a well known immunoglobulin substance important for proper immune functions- There are manty other well known compunds in colostrum that have been studied for many years- there’s no hocus pocus witchcraft involved- these are facts-
Again- look into the science or not- don’t really car-e but if you wish to remain in the dark about it- how about not screaming at others that choose not to remain in the dark?
[[You can guzzle all the Clorox you want and shove UV lights up your rectum,]]
Mind explaining what those two ignorant claims made by morons who hate Trump have to do with actual scientific scientifically studied facts about colostrum and the many important components in it that have well known health benefits??
We’re not losing anything- morons on the left spouting ignorant claims have absolutely no bearing on scientific facts-
Someone with soft hands goes to all of the hospital nurseries in every city.
I’ll volunteer!................It’s the least I could do.............
Colostrum, real probiotics, fiber supplement, vitamims c/d, zinc, and you will be gold, Jerry. Gold.
.
lol=- We aren’t much on natural products- but if something were to work better than a vaccine, and could really help address the actual conditions of things like Crohn’s, IBD etc- instead of just treat those kinds of condition’s underlying symptoms- which do nothing to help heal really- not much anyways- We’d be willing to give it a try if it helped with flues (and possibly covid)- We’d take it too especially if we had conditions that could be treated by it- but most supplements just treat a symptom or two- maybe- but don’t heal the actual condition so you’re left with constantly taking them to try to keep a few symptoms from flaring up too badly
We do take D and Zinc- those two are pretty well proven to be quite beneficial, especially when really low on D-
Colostrum Plus I get online.
Got it for myself but like everything else, it wound up being given to the dogs because they matter more.
:)
It’s good for dogs with allergies, too.
yup I’ve read that- they have dog chews that are less expensive than human version i think-
