A top FBI lawyer who fabricated evidence in a federal spy warrant against Trump campaign affiliate Carter Page is expected to plead guilty to federal charges brought by U.S. Attorney John Durham. Kevin Clinesmith, who is expected to admit to deliberately fabricating evidence in a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant application, used to spy on a former campaign affiliate of President Donald Trump, was a top attorney in the Federal Bureau of Investigations Office of General Counsel (OGC) and a key agency attorney under fired former FBI Director James Comey.
Clinesmith is the first individual to be charged as part of U.S. Attorney John Durhams investigation into the efforts in 2016 and 2017 to spy on the Trump campaign and Trump administration. Both Durham and Attorney General William Barr stated at the conclusion of the OIG investigation of the Page FISA warrants that they had reason to believe the entire investigation of Trump, which allegedly began in late July of 2016, was not legally predicated. Durham was tapped by Barr in May of 2019 to investigate the Russian collusion hoax and determine whether any criminal charges against those who perpetrated it were warranted.

Okay, it’s a hopeful start, but that’s a pretty small fish.
One bit from the NYT Article:
“Mr. Clinesmith, who resigned over the matter last year, was expected to be charged in federal court in Washington with a single felony count of making a false statement.”
Someone gave this runt an order...for certain he didn’t act on his own volition. And I’d say Comey and ???
But how is it possible the deep state would allow this to happen?
Where is the deep state’s power?
"...mislead...his colleagues.."
This does not make me think he has a deal. It sounds to me like he's taking the fall and providing cover for his colleagues.
He'll be disbarred, maybe serve 6 months in a white-collar prison, then enjoy the rest of his life as a celebrity tenured professor and CNN contributor.
Just means it won’t go to trial and the charges stand. He pleaded guilty. No deal involved as far as I can tell...at this time.
serieslee?!
there’s an acronym for that?
that’s hugh.
is what he’ll be sayin...
nyuk nyuk nyuk
The felony automatically kills his license.
The deep state sacrificed a small potato. It is not headline news because we all knew it was coming. My bet is the next one charged will be to posthumously say John McCain planned and set up the whole Crossfire deal. We shall see.
Who knew Clinesmith was a Russian?
and anyone significant who tries to talk will be forced to testify posthumously.
mistakes were made.
Amazing that this kind of corruption can happen in the FBI and the upper echelon of government and if it were up to the democrats and the deep state youd never even hear about these crimes. https://t.co/0wKEkuLPfZ— Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) August 14, 2020
#Durham Court documents show former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith to plead guilty to one count, false statements 18 USC 1001. @CBSNews has learned that after FBI records were declassified by @DNI_Ratcliffe last month further implicating Clinesmith, his lawyer approached Durhams pic.twitter.com/6Gh0R9FGLt— Catherine Herridge (@CBS_Herridge) August 14, 2020
office about a deal. The question in both the 2016 defensive briefing + the altered CIA email is whether Clinesmith acted independently or at the direction of, or with approval of FBI leadership. Plea deals typically involve cooperation. READ pic.twitter.com/5ZzlAcXCHw— Catherine Herridge (@CBS_Herridge) August 14, 2020
Let me correct the mainstream: Clinesmith is not some low level agent. That is complete and purposeful mischaracterization.— Adam Housley (@adamhousley) August 14, 2020
If they allow McCain to be charged posthumously, it would be a devastating blow to their general narrative.
Their narrative is really the only thing they’ve ever had, period.
Could be he acted alone...His lie is the reason for the 3 year long investigation...Who can blame someone for that??? Good police work to follow up on pertinent information...
And since he'll be without a job, after his 30 day probation he'll probably retire in the Bahamas...
Just ask Seth Rich.
When I try to read a democrat mind I go for the stupidest most outlandish explanation.
