An elderly gentleman called today to get an appointment to see a professional. Then, he called back and cancelled, saying they were afraid of going to downtown because of the violence. That is a huge factor that the media nor anyone else I know of is covering. Suddenly, all kinds of professionals (doctors, lawyers, accountants, opthamologists, you name it) are losing a large number of appointments due to the FEAR the Democrats, media and their foot soldiers Burn Loot Murder bunch are bringing to the cities. This has to be STOPPED in its tracks.
I agree 100%.
I am all for the right of people to gather and peaceably protest, but this blocking of roads, surrounding of cars, haranguing people, assaulting people, shootings, fire bombings, all of it does not fall under that aegis.
These people, all of them, should be arrested, tried, and jailed for long terms, all the way up to the people financing and organizing it.
It is sedition. And in some cases, I believe, treason.
It’s been great for the gun business.........
Yet we are too weak as a nation to deal with it. We have sown the wind as a nation. We are now reaping what we have sown. This is a judgement against us.The question is what will we do? How will we respond?
This is a super DUH. We have cities that haven’t recovered from the 1968 riots.
Now add giving the rioters free reign and defunding the police.
The cities will not recover for 50 years. Minimum.
I had business on the other side of Baltimore a few weeks ago. I couldnt bring myself to drive thru the city - took the beltway all the way around.
The democrats are protected by their media. No one will call them out on this, only perhaps Ted Cruz. Are the rest of the republicans holding the democrats accountable? I hear nothing but crickets.
Well, if Americans want the violence and threats to stop, they better just vote for someone who won’t “rock the boat”.
That is directed at many Americans and is one of the reasons I was told by many Clinton voters back in 2016 of why they wouldn’t vote for (now) President Trump.
“Suddenly, all kinds of professionals (doctors,,,,) are losing a large number of appointments ...”
In Portland, there was a group of doctors at the riots, giving support to the rioters.
And TP.
Here in Washington state the voters like their oppression straight-up. The total moron of a governor (Jay Dimslee) received just over 50% of the vote. By contrast the nearest pubbie received 8.29%.
Seattle is in a state of open rebellion with zombies ravaging the streets with impunity. Meanwhile the sheeple are going about the business of subservience. If Dimslee ordered people to wear plastic bags over their heads they would do it until they dropped dead from lack of oxygen.
Simply stated - we’re screwed.
That,is,the worst thing by far...almost no Republicans standing up for Freedom and Liberty and telling the nation what we stand to lose namely our lives, our fortune and our sacred honor.
These are the darlings of the communist media.
I don't mean to be too pedantic, but some clarity of verbiage is in order. The word "nation" derives from the latin "natal" or "natalis", meaning "of birth".
The US is no longer a "nation". For the first 100 years, it met the definition of "nation", with nearly all originating from England.
However, since 1965, there has been a flood of immigrants who have pulled the US to the Left. These are not "of birth" to the US. They are foreigners, despite that piece of paper they waive in front of you.
With this flood, the US has morphed from a "nation" to a "state", which is an entirely different entity.
We are no longer a big family, no longer a nation. Rather, the US is an economically-driving conglomeration of disparate people, who are at each other's throats, driven by divisive identity politics (and mis-education).
With all this in mind, it is no mystery to me why the US is in the fix it is in. The US is no longer a nation. It is a state.
A bank up the street is still boarded up in plywood. Don’t know when it will reopen.
This is a super DUH. We have cities that havent recovered from the 1968 riots.
Absoutely true. The MLK riots changed Chicago permanently and the effects can be seen today. IMO, the next giant sucking sound you will hear will be people and businesses getting the heck out of even the good or newly gentrified areas. 20 years from now, The film Escape From New York will seem ingeniously prophetic-unless there is an amazing turn around.
I was in graduate school in Berkeley in the late Seventies-Early Eighties. There were still burned out buildings from the late sixties riots, and a lot of buildings still had bricked up windows, including Bank of America which had been one focus of attack during the riots. One difference back then was the police shot the rioters, mainly with shotguns. We need to bring that back.
....which could translate into new business for competitors here...
