Ping-Worthy?
Outdoors, Topical, etc.
They are worried about tourists coming from virus hotspots
There won’t be that many posts. New York can’t be blamed this time :-)
Well I’m sure some will figure a way :-)
When I went to Jackson Hole with my dad in the mid-80s, we were warned if we saw Harrison Ford to leave him alone, dont ask for autographs, dont even approach him. I guess if you feed the animals, theyll get used to humans and keep coming around. We laughed about that for years.
Oh good God what a panic piece.
Same thing going on in our rural tourist area. Huge crowds of people from big cities.
Went there in March 1994 and was skiing by myself.
I dirt bike seriously year round. Group rides, camping etc.
Due to Covid, people have cabin fever and want outdoors. Its sometimes like a holiday weekend x2.
Local and domestic tourism is hot! Anything with the outdoors is sold out.
Used to stay at :
Mad Dog Ranch
Great spot
Not my problem.
But someone keeps trying me to worked up about all kinds of stuff.
What a Country!!
Sounds like a lot of people with free time and money. Why not?
Jackson Hole in itself is pretty much a run o the mill tourist stop. Great scenery but ... oh well.
Good news. The American economy is roaring back. The “vacation destination” resorts in San Diego are packed, from what I learned from friends.
The article from the National Geographic is excessively emotional and fearful. “The stress is unbelievable.” NG is a rag.
Grow up and be true to the outdoor lifestyle: fearless. Virus cases are increasing is good, since increasing virus cases is a signal of herd immunity. Kids don’t get killed by Covid-19 unless they eat twinkies, play computer games and drink cokes all day.
Relax. The Covid-19 death rate is less than 20% where it was on April 30.
Good news. Americans are traveling domestically. Bad news. Rome, London and Paris are hurting for American tourists, big time. Sad that international flights are empty and expensive.
Take the tram and have a waffle,
$100 hotel rooms going for $400. You can’t get a restaurant reservation until the first week of August. The “Million Dollar Cowboy Bar” is closed.
My wife and I were there last weekend.
—likewise Deadwood, SD—
So 3 times 0 = tripled 0?
Just came back from Yellowstone. Nightmare, TOO MANY PEOPLE...and only a few mask wearers. Incidentally, Montana has a statewide mask order, yet once you cross the front door, NO ONE wears a mask. This is all phony.
Ok. And what intellectual giant failed to predict this?
The dumbing down of civilization.
Just rode through there a couple of weeks ago on a 3-week Rockies motorcycle tour and Jackson was PACKED - total traffic jam getting through that town. We went over the pass and stayed in Idaho Falls instead.
