Due to a confusion with house numbers, about once a month my mail gets misdirected. Long story. A friend recently told me about USPS Informed Delivery. Once you sign up (it’s free) you'll receive a daily email with pictures of all the mail you’re supposed to be getting.

So at least now I now what mail to expect. And if it’s not in my mailbox, I know that it has been misdirected.

This Informed Delivery thing a nice service. So I thought some of my fellow Freepers might be interested in it.

I signed up last year. I live in a rural area about 10 min away from a small city. CONSTANTLY getting the wrong mail.

I have a po box for my business. Sadly its not available for businesses.

We have been doing this for a while, and even though it isn’t perfect it is a cool feature to have.

I have had it for a long time at my primary residence and find it to be extremely helpful. The reason I got it in the first place was to use it at a second home that we often go weeks without visiting. I wanted to know what was in that mailbox. For some reason I was never able to get that one to work. I tried online, I went into the PO multiple times- no go.

Once, we got home from traveling and my mailbox was open and empty. I was able to look on my informed delivery to see what I missed (I think the snowplow hit it and everything blew away in a storm).

Once you’re in the system under your residential street address, you won’t be able to do it for PO boxes despite what they say

Both me and my daughter signed up. She sees my email as well as I can see hers. By address.

The note is a good idea.. At least you’ll know not to check your mailbox again that day.

There’s too much use of personality hate Trump preferences as the excuse for quote, impeachment, unquote. It’s a distraction from the real reason.

What should be looked into and brought to public attention is the connection to the corruption used by the swamp creatures Trump would put a screeching halt to. And offered as the real reason why they are going after Trump.

In my case it was off by 3 weeks, a check was coming, I got the picture in my email, went over to the post office after 2 days and they gave me a BLAST, I should have NEVER downloaded that program, it’s the worst thing, they should have never started that program, it’s a disaster, we can’t answer your question we have no idea where it could be!

I get an email every morning saying what to expect in the mail. They also let you know what packages to expect. I love it! If you don’t get one some morning, it means no mail for you that day.

If you are a transient, seasonal or merchant marine sailor there are subscription services that will act as your mail address and send you pictures of mail received and even read you the letters that appear to be important (bank, irs, etc) before mailing to where ever you tell them to send it.

I just signed up recently. From what I can tell, it goes back one week. And only if you were signed up for that week. If there is a link to anything further back I haven’t seen it.

I have it and it’s awesome. This is one thing the USPS has done right!

They do many things right. Love our mail carriers. We had to close our business for Covid and they automatically starting bringing our mail from our business to our house mailbox.

I actually did not know it went back in time. I bet they have the pictures of the mail though. Check with the postmaster.

Has anyone used it while traveling and they have a hold mail order while they’re gone. That way they can see what they’re suppose to be getting in the mail that day. Wondering if you can do that.
