Osterholm believes the U.S. is eventually looking at between 800,000 and 1.6 million dead from Covid-19. That means either he expects fatalities to continue at the same rate for another two years or for mortality to accelerate. Neither seems likely to me. In fact I think it would contradict the pattern of all previous pandemics.
Thank you for posting this. I just ordered Dr. Michael Osterholm’s book “Deadliest Enemies”. Sounds like I agree with Mike Rowe’s take on CV.
This is what we need to hear from the bishops and from the “learned.” Mike hits the nail on the head: we live with risks every day, and cv19 is another risk that we must live with.
The big question is, how much of your risk are you allowed to impose on me? For example, is it right for you to deprive me of my natural right to work and feed my family, invoking no due process of law, and only supported by threadbare theories on the efficacy of a lockdown? Should you be able to force me to take measures which have been shown to be injurious to health, such as wearing a mask everywhere I go?
