I go to a camp by Saranac Lake every year. Make the 9 hour drive from Maryland to the camp. With Cuomo's latest Order, my state is now restricted. Anyone in upstate New York see any enforcement of Cuomo's Executive Order? Half my family has bailed out of our family vacation, while I'm still holding out hope.
Why spend your money in NY? I know where you’re going is probably beautiful, but... still?
perhaps you could do a high-speed evasion at the checkpoints ... you’d need a good muscle car though ... fake plates would be useful too ...

But regarding travel, I'm a bit concerned about reduced immunity due to the chemo, and what might happen if I got sick. (Free travel, which every American regarded as a right until a few months ago, isn't such a right anymore. There are even restrictions on people who aren't sick. So, for example, I wasn't allowed to go to Florida for a couple of months; and now that I could go there now NJ might not let me come back. This isn't America anymore.)ML/NJ

Change vehicles three times. 3rd can lead to an abandoned fire road and you can hike northeast on foot about twenty miles. Then someone will signal you by using a hand mirror to reflect sunlight to spell out "safe here."
Get out your Piere Delecto handlebar moustache and plain mask. Act like a native New Yorker to blend in (rude, nasty, selfish, ambitious to get what you want.)

I noticed that hotel rates in Vermont more or less doubled since the last time I stayed there, around 2018. We had reservations for early August in Maine for Owl’s Head Wheels and Wings Spectacular, which was canceled this year. We thought we’d go up anyway, but when we found out the “quarantine” would still be effect we canceled. New Hampshire and Vermont have been eating Maine’s lunch. This is pure economic warfare being waged by downstate/liberal/Portland against upstate/conservative/rural Maine.
All great in the summer .

Go to Vermont and rent a car, get the insurance. If stopped, torch the car, report it as stolen and hitchhike home. /S (or is it?)
They’re not doing $hit except at airports and then just lie. Tell them you are passing through if anyone asks. I’m in NJ and there are cars everywhere here from “quarantine” states and haven’t seen anyone stopped anywhere. You will be fine. Cops are actually doing fewer road stops because of COVID.

Laws and regulations pursuant to the Governor’s orders are ONLY applicable to residents of the State he/she presides over.
All other actions on residents of another State who under the jurisdiction of another governor, are restraint of interstate travel and trade.
This is a federal felony.
Chances are you won’t find a lawyer to try the case (fear) or one who is moderately priced.
Your best option is to file a complaint with the local FBI office citing 18USC242.
They won’t investigate.
1. Drive right to your location in NY and leave your vehicle there. Do t worry about quarantine enforcement while you are traveling there.
2. If you have to leave your camp for any reason, it will be better if someone in your group has a vehicle with a license plate from a non-quarantine state. Use that vehicle to travel around up there.
3. Stay away from tourist destinations like Lake Placid and the village of Saranac Lake if you can.
4. I have two different cell phones — one for personal use, and one that is a business line. If I have to travel somewhere and fill out a form with a contact phone number, I give them my business number. My business phone will stay home on my desk while I am out of state, so anyone who tries to track it will think I never left home.
5. If I am in NY for a week or two and someone confronts me over any kind of a quarantine, I’ll just say I arrived up there in June and quarantined for 14 days already.
6. If you can, you might consider renting a car in Maryland with a Pennsylvania or New York license plate on it.
Another way around it is to just flat lie and tell folks you’ve been in quarantine and to ask for proof is a violation of the ADA and HIPPA.
