Hydroxychloroquine could save up to 100,000 lives if used for COVID-19: Yale epidemiology professor

Dr. Harvey Risch, an epidemiology professor at Yale School of Public Health, said on Tuesday that he thinks hydroxychloroquine could save 75,000 to 100,000 lives if the drug is widely used to treat coronavirus.

“There are many doctors that I’ve gotten hostile remarks about saying that all the evidence is bad for it and, in fact, that is not true at all,” Risch told “Ingraham Angle," adding that he believes the drug can be used as a "prophylactic" for front-line workers, as other countries like India have done.

Risch lamented that a "propaganda war" is being waged against the use of the drug for political purposes, not based on "medical facts."

Researchers at the Henry Ford Health System in Southeast Michigan have found that early administration of hydroxychloroquine makes hospitalized patients substantially less likely to die.

The study, published in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases, determined that hydroxychloroquine provided a "66 percent hazard ratio reduction," and hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin a 71 percent reduction, compared with neither treatment.

In-hospital mortality was 18.1 percent overall; 13.5 percent with just hydroxychloroquine, 22.4 percent with azithromycin alone, and 26.4 percent with neither drug. "Prospective trials are needed" for further review, the researchers note, even as they concluded: "In this multi-hospital assessment, when controlling for COVID-19 risk factors, treatment with hydroxychloroquine alone and in combination with azithromycin was associated with reduction in COVID-19 associated mortality."

"Our results do differ from some other studies," Dr. Marcus Zervos, who heads the hospital's infectious diseases unit, said at a news conference. "What we think was important in ours ... is that patients were treated early. For hydroxychloroquine to have a benefit, it needs to begin before the patients begin to suffer some of the severe immune reactions that patients can have with COVID."

Maybe if families of deceased COVID patients start suing their doctors and/or the CDC or NIH- for wrongful deaths - due to suppression of the use of HCQ and zyrithromyecin and zinc - people would start to listen.

Last week I started to come down with symptoms which started with the usual dry throat, slight cough....

By the 3rd day of symptoms, I had lost my taste and smell senses. That was what took it for me from "something" to the next level for me.

As luck would have it, my sister in Ga sent me a link to a Dr in Southern California who wrote a letter to POTUS telling him they were having good success treating patients for COVID-19. I looked at GMAPS, determined it was a two hour drive, and I made appointments for me, and the person who infected me.

We both were tested in the parking lot, then we had our vital signs taken, then we saw the Dr. Soon into his description of his treatment, he mentioned he followed the Zelenko Protocol. I broke in and I told him that is why I drove 2 hours to see him. I have followed Dr. Zelenko and his work since he first received any publicity months ago.

The Dr prescribed the FIVE day HCQ+Zinc + an antibiotic to prevent pneumonia from developing.

This was the 3rd day of my symptoms and in addition to my throat, I noticed all day long the congestion in my chest was getting worse.

I took the first pills Tuesday evening after I got home. On Wednesday morning, I noticed the chest congestion had not only not gotten any worse, it seemed to be improved.

By Friday morning, I was getting my sense of smell and taste back.

When I finished the 5 days of drugs on Sunday, I was and am symptom free.

My blood pressure during checks was 120/70- there was no doubt in my mind that the Zelenko Protocol worked. The person who infected me- 180/? = probably extreme concern.

When I got results back from the test: I tested NEGATIVE. A day later, the person who infected me= POSITIVE. It turns out the first few days of infection, the FALSE NEGATIVE probability goes from 100% down to 20% on day 8 according to one article I read.

We are now both quarantined waiting until it seems the "experts" deem it safe to mingle again.

If you have an IQ much above dirt, you will find a Dr. BEFORE YOU GET INFECTED that is knowledgable of HCQ+Zinc. Don't wait and try to educate your usual physician, if they don't know what is going on, you aren't going to change their mind. FIND A DR that KNOWS and understands the issues! I had one idiot tell me that HCQ was dangerous as I was checking...

It's much worse than that. NY Gov Cuomo was putting infected people into nursing homes. STUPIDITY or MURDER?

I have seen a NY nurse saying that when poor infected patients came in, the staff would tell them that if they wanted to live, they needed to be put on a ventilator. I have seen different medical people say the death rate on ventilators is somewhere between 60-90%. Apparently NY got paid by the Feds for ventilators and for COVID deaths.

Was it organized MURDER or gross stupidity?

Unfortunately, I think you are right. Was reading in a “Mergers & Acquisitions” magazine a short article written by a young lady who was billed as one of the young best and brightest. Here are a couple of her exactly quoted statements:

- Businesses run by a homogeneous group of individuals should not be tolerated.
- Businesses that don’t have good relations with employees and local communities should not be tolerated
- Businesses which lack diversity at the board level should not be tolerated.

Just think about the implications of these standards. About 95% of businesses in America should be bulldozed according to her. Just who is teaching this insane garbage at our universities? People who think like this are going to make Josef Stalin look like a Cub Scout.

Good advice, IMHO - but precisely how? You had a helpful contact. The Internet theoretically would allow us all to have a similar contact - but a hostile government can suppress that.

Sue Fauci too. He knew (or should have known) that CQ was used as a prophylactic and as an early treatment for SARS / Cov 1 in 2005. HCQ has fewer side effects.

Slight clarification: Michigan isn't a "democratic state", it's governor is a Socialist Democrat though, so are many top officials. Michigan is traditionally a swing state, with most people in SE Michigan voting Democrat, and most people in West Michigan tending to vote Republican.

Why does SE MI tend to vote Democrat? Because the big unions are Democrat-controlled.

Senior homes were possibly denying new patients who were elderly due to the CONVID scare. Michigan's Governor Whitmer actually did something (probably an EO) to tell the senior homes they must take these new patients. So yes, that could be interpreted as forcing homes to take infected seniors, resulting in a higher death rate in these homes.
