Many lament a Saratoga Race Course season that won't include them (Track Opens July 16)

But this year Giordano, and the estimated 1 million other fans, won’t be able to experience what for many is the highlight of their summers – the 40-day meet at Saratoga. No one, except those essential to the meet, will be allowed to push through the turnstiles, a precaution as COVID-19 continues to ravage the country. Thus on Thursday, when the bugle signals the first race of the season, the seats overlooking the track will be empty of fans.

As the closure of businesses, loss of employment and deaths associated with the pandemic is in the forefront of everyone's minds, it makes the loss of such an enjoyable activity for many that much more difficult.

What a shame, what a bad way to make history at a historic race track. I thought masks work? If so, why cannot they have spectators and masks?

So glad I did my attendance in 2006. At least checked it off. The crazy thing is I may never truly go to a Preakness in My backyard.

But then, in NY at Belmont, a bunch of these jockeys took a knee.

I’d still like to know under what auspices and what jockeys did it. Racing is tough that way because everything is very independent.

If they play that race-card game then they can forget it. Several tracks at least have white-shamed. Screw them.

I’m where I should be all the time, but when I’m not I’m with some underworld spy or the wife of a close friend.

Yes, life is soooooo unfair.................

I thin’ that actually referred to his bet, not his property!

In which case, yes, he wouldn’t be able to go and bet...oh, but there is OTB/Internet bets.

Please note the local Saratoga news of a UNION Civil War statue destroyed in Congress Pk.

This BLM stuff is not about alleged racism. It’s about destruction of the USA.

I’m one of them.

I’ve been there every summer since 1966, and only missed one Travers since 1967.
