Hey, all. I need a little help throwing together an upbeat playlist of songs to listen to at work. I work along at nights cleaning clinics for a local hospital and since I have nobody to talk to, I need to listen to something to help the time go by quicker.

Oh, yeah. I forgot about his “It’s a Miracle”. Thank you. This thread is paying off already.

Heh, heh. I'm already downloading "It's a Miracle".

Can't rule out gay guys. Otherwise I'd have to delete "Philadelphia Freedom" and "Best Friend"

Frankenstein. I haven’t heard of that song in so long. great song

There’s a lot of upbeat early Beatles music that’s not political and it’s just fun.

Then there’s Great balls of fire and Johnny b Good and slow down and all those old classics :-)

Ditto on Spotify.

There are many playlists there. Bonus: the playlists will help you discover new “upbeat” music.

I believe it’s still free with some restrictions, but I’ve subscribed for a long time now. Well worth it!

Got a verson of 25 or 6 to 4 that is performed by a group of Russians called Leonid & Friends.

Here's their version if you want to check it out.

25 or 6 to 4 - Leonid & Friends

Actually, I have most of their songs on my list. I just noticed they've added a few.

The sad part is now I’m listening to this one’s for you and even now by barry :-)

he’s ridiculously hard left and once walked off of a talk show because a conservative was coming to sit down. But what the heck I like some of his songs

Anything with steel drum automatically has a happy tone. I love One Particular Harbor by Jimmy Buffett. Maybe try Montego Bay by Bobby Bloom.

Country is fine. Don't think I have any blues. Is there such a thing as upbeat blues?

I recently overcame a series battle with depression so I'm kind of leary of blues.

Not familiar with electronica. Anything come to mind?

Kraftwerk was the grandfather of the genre, more upbeat tunes include "Pocket Calculator" and "Numbers". It is pretty repetitive by design, and 100% electronic.

My own tastes have been running older:

Here is an eclectic list of upbeat tunes:

One Fine Day    Chiffons
Rose Garden    Lynn Anderson
So Long, Baby Del Shannon
Lipstick on your Collar    Connie Francis
Junk Food Junkie Larry Groce
Misty Ray Stevens
Love Will Keep Us Together    Captain and Tennille
Gloria    Laura Brannigan
Oliver's Army    Elvis Costello
Sukiyaki    Kyu Sakamoto
California Nights Lesly Gore
Stand Up Del Shannon
Maybe I Know    Leslie Gore
Be My Guest    Fats Domino
Don't Come Home a 'Drinkin'    Loretta Lynn
Downtown Petula Clark
Mr. Blue Sky ELO
Seattle Connie Stevens
Run Jody Run David Geddes
Love in the Shadows Neil Sedaka
The Prettiest Star David Bowie
Early in the Morning Buddy Holly
Smoky Mountain Rain Ronnie Milsap
Women Foreigner
Sandy Dion and the Belmonts
Midnight Train Del Shannon
Donna the Prima Donna Dion and the Belmonts
Starting Over John Lennon
Speed of Life David Bowie
Ring Ring Abba
The Good Times Nat King Cole
Snowbird Anne Murray
Amie Pure Prairie League
Turn to Stone ELO
Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime    Dean Martin
Moonlight Serenade    Glenn Miller
Begin the Beguine    Arte Shaw
Take the A Train    Duke Ellington

Ah, yes. ELO. They got some good stuff. Thanks. Hard to believe I didn’t have any of their stuff. This is exactly why I started this thread.
