Purchase of AR-15 - What and Where Recommendations? (Vanity)
Self | 06/30/20 | Me

Posted on 06/30/2020 8:18:11 AM PDT by KevinB

Looking for recommendations from the knowledgeable folks on this board on what would be a good AR-15 to purchase and where would be a good place to purchase it. (Asking for a friend.) Thanks in advance.

“If you drop the sig it’ll have to go back to the factory too”

For the sake of the truth, I must admit that I have dropped the Sig Saur as well. It was not damaged. I think it is much sturdier than the Ruger, as much as it hurts me to say so.

“only you’ll be out $1500 instead of $900.”

Wow, where do you live that prices are that high?

“You can drop an M14 on the ground and break it too.”

My experience in the Navy was that M14s are pretty sturdy. I don’t recall hearing of one broken over 25 years.

“They aren’t supposed to be dropped.”

Hey! I was just trying to be helpful. “Supposed to be” or not, things do get dropped, and I think the Sig Saur is sturdier.

I took my wife and daughter for a drive up on the Grand Mesa Sunday, and we saw a bear cross the road in front of us.

Not a remarkable wildlife sighting, but we enjoyed it.

I doubt that there is a reputable practitioner around here. Maybe I can get some from Japan. They use a lot of TCM (which they call kampoyaku) there.

I asked for the formulas, but the doc’s translator wouldn’t give them. I thought it was a trade secret thing. But then I began looking into it, and he may have done it because they are very customized. What works for one person may not work for others, or even for the same person later on. And the wrong one can make you sicker. I’ve studied it, and they have identified about twenty bodily systems that can go wrong a few ways each, all producing unique constellations of symptoms. When they identify which systems go wrong, they push them back into where they should be with herbs and/or acupuncture, and the system then begins to take off itself.

One observation is they often give laxative herbs to clear out the bacteria in the GI tract, and the fermentation products they produce. But not always.

But then I see things like this for heart disease, which a doctor will tell you is untreatable.

They’d give you the laxatives, and some other stuff to fortify you, and before long you’d feel massively better.

You got lucky. Drop that Sig a couple more times. All firearms can be damaged. For the price the Windham is a fine rifle. You are probably looking at the gas impinged Sig for around $1000. I'm talking about the Sig 516 piston operated patrol rifle which is the one you want for $1400-$1600 because it will take a suppressor. The gas impinged won't. But for God's sake don't drop it on the sidewalk. 😂

Olympic has been making ARs longer than almost all of the others. It was my first AR. Fit was much better than a friend’s Rock River. The only sloppy one I ever saw was one of the early cast ones that came out during one of the earlier panic buys. My $.02.

9mm, .45 ACP, and 5.56 are almost non-existent locally. Coastal OR. All else looks good. You might have to settle for Blazer Brass, but.

The Obama years were much worse, here.

Before I let our Labs out, I have to scan the deck and yard, less there be a critter in a heavy black coat about.

We’ve had our share of encounters with the beasts. Cute, they are not.

Our section of Vermont [NEK], has the most dense population of black bear, of any state.
