Looking for recommendations from the knowledgeable folks on this board on what would be a good AR-15 to purchase and where would be a good place to purchase it. (Asking for a friend.) Thanks in advance.

Asshole, huh? Is that the best you can do? Sometimes there is only one word in the English language that will do. In your case, asshole is that word.

If you can’t get an AR look for a .12 gauge shotgun or a good marlin lever 30-30. The 1911 with extra magazines are fine handguns as well. I have a Springfield XDM45 ACP, a Remington 870 and a 22LR. I'm just thinking maybe I need something a little more robust.

Learn to shoot it.
Learn and practice good safety habits...
Use eye and ear protection.
Save your empties and get into handloading.
Don’t store a firearm in a case at home. A case is for transport only.
Get a .22 rimfire also. It will pay for itself quickly...

Hope you can find what you want. Right now, you might have to locate an FFL near you who will do transfers for a small fee, then buy something
like this online and have it shipped to the FFL. Scroll to the bottom of PSA's page and you'll see an "FFL Finder" link which should be of assistance.
You'll need magazines, ammo and a sight of some sort, but it's a start. Magpul makes good basic "backup iron sights" as well as magazines.

I have a mini 14 and use it for hog hunting. I love the sound of it cycling and the weight.

It’s almost like a baby M-1. (By baby I don’t mean inadequate.)

Get one chambered in 5.56 x 45. You can fire .223 through it albeit with somewhat less accuracy. With a barrel chambered in .223 the chamber pressures can be excessive.

I like mine. I can get a decent grouping on a silhouette target all in center mass at more than 100 yards. The one thing I would do differently is go for a 7.62 for the heavier round.
I did put aftermarket sights on the rear so I could have easier windage adjustability a big improvement over the OEM product.

For your 2 cents something can be whipped up for you. Now for your 50 cents 90 days same as cash with no money down something can be whipped up for you too. wink wink
We prefer small bills for the 2 cents option... large bills accepted for amounts over a nickle.

Roger makes good guns but their crap is all proprietary, $70 magazines, grab any other ar and grab cheap ubiquitous mag. Where did you get that from?! My Ruger AR-556 came with a Magpul magazine from the factory.

I put a Zeiss 4X9 on mine. My eyes won’t work with iron sights anymore.

Check out Traditional Chinese Medicine about the neuropathy. I’ve seen a few people now who have had medical conditions which regular doctors said would be chronic, and a TCM doctor fixed them. As best I can tell, a lot of chronic diseases are inflammatory which arises out of the bacteria in the intestine, and TCM herbs radically alter what bacteria grow down there and when done according to their rules, it can often change stuff which otherwise would be unchangeable.
I saw the guy they went to, and no kidding, in a month and a half felt like I had rolled the physical clock back twenty years.

If you drop the sig it'll have to go back to the factory too only you'll be out $1500 instead of $900. You can drop an M14 on the ground and break it too. They aren't supposed to be dropped. 😆
