I'm sure (I hope) to get a range of responses to this thread.
I've owned hand guns and long guns of all types. Handling them is not an issue.
Unfortunately the ones I've had were lost in a boating accident.
I'm looking to replace the ones I had with three or four that compliment each other.

As far as complimenting each other and for SHTF utility when the gun stores close down, I thought it prudent to get a lever action and revolver in the same caliber so I could carry less ammo. A Henry Big Boy in .357 magnum or .44 magnum with modest optics and matching revolver covers a lot of territory and easy to service down the road. Wild west style...but that was my thinking. Yours may vary. Good luck !

What do you use for pigeons?

In the semi-auto rifle category I have a Savage A22 in 22 Mag with five ten round rotary mags. I have a wood stock, a bipod and a four power scope. Looks like a plain 22 but shoots like a monster. Zeroed so everything is within 3 of point of sim out to 160 yards.

I qualified my statement below that post. I realize that Mosins CAN be made to be accurate, but the vast majority of them (and he mentioned the $100 range) will barely hold a 6 MOA at 100 yards.

To: Blood of Tyrants
Your not wrong about that. They are good 100 yard guns, perhaps out to 200, but that’s about it. That’s why they sold for next to nothing, but a simple barrel change would do wonders for most of them.

They sold for next to nothing because they imported about 5 million of them and only paid probably $10 each.

Thanks for posting. I had a similar event happen to me so I will be interested in all of the responses as well. JoMaA gun thread is always fun and even though I'm familiar with them the wealth of knowledge we have here on FR has given me additional ideas to think about. As I knew it would :)
