Check out Flower Mound, nice area. Argue is nice, not too far. Still has a rural feel in some spots.

Richardson TX. I work in logistics, and my clients are in the greater DFW area. Richardson TX is lovely. I’d move there, but my heart is in Chattanooga TN as it’s a trucking hub and I want to retire in the mountains.
I lived in the DFW area for 28 years. I had to move to ATL for my job, been here 10 years and would move back to the DFW area in a minute. Texas people the best , not very “nice” people in the Atlanta area as a whole. My only hope in escaping Georgia will be retiring in Texas.
Lewisville itself and all the surrounding towns/areas are all really nice and suburban, maybe a tad boring but it’s also built up a lot over the years. I wouldn’t think you would have problems there or any surrounding areas
Flower Mound is nice and right next to Lewisville. You can go further north and try Denton, you would be committed to driving over Lake Lewisville on I-35, which can be a real problem. Also going west is Grapevine, Trophy Club, and Westlake. Trophy Club and Westlake are really nice but expensive. Lake Lewisville is immediately north and east of Lewisville. There are all kinds of communities out there so if living near water appeals to you that might be a good place. Flower Mound is right on a different lake so it wouldn’t be bad either.
I’m here in the middle of the Permian Basin, we try to stay as far away from that area as possible. Same with Austin, Houston, San Antonio and El Paso.
We chose Flower Mound when we moved to Texas. There are some great neighborhoods, great parks, and we like the school district. It’s easily accessible to DFW airport, and major roads leading into Dallas, Ft. Worth, etc. Good variation in price ranges. FloMo is a relatively large footprint, if you have the opportunity of time, cast a wide net.

First question in Texas is whether you need to use public schools. School boundaries do NOT match municipal boundaries, and are frequently more important as far as real estate values go. (My quick cheat sheet is to look at the percentage of students getting free lunches at the local schools).
Second question is price point. There has been a big influx of folks from California and other yankee areas, and prices have gone up significantly in the last 5 years or so.
With that out of the way - Lewisville is an OK suburb, with some of the areas nicer than others. It’s sandwiched between Dallas County (controled by Democrats) and the Denton county seat of (surprisingly enough, Denton County) with liberal influences from two University campuses. So don’t expect a conservative mecca. There is rail service from Lewisville to both Denton and Dallas (change of train needed to get to Dallas). Not on the Dallas bus system, and two bus lines on the Denton County system; a car is needed - and a toll tag is needed for the car.
If you go north of Lewisville toward Denton, traffic can back up on the I-35 bridge across the lake, although it has been widened recently. Carrolton (to the south) is about on par with Lewisville; Coppell is a little nicer. Portions of west Plano (west of the tollway) are very high end, some are in the Lewisville school district, some in Plano (which has a better reputation for schools). Up Texas 121-Sam Rayburn tollway is The Colony (generally slightly downmarket) Frisco (revolving around second tier pro sports), north Plano (more liberal), Allen (high school sports and band) and McKinney. Living up 121 means very heavy traffic around the 121 - Dallas North Tollway interchange. You probably don’t want to go too far down 121 toward DFW airport.
Maybe look at Highland Village?
Answering an unasked question - if you go with Peachtree Corners - move much further out. Or get a time machine. Way too close to problem areas these days. Great area 30 or 40 years ago.
Back on topic, and inspired by another poster. If you like Asian food, the Richardson - Plano corridor along US 75 has great choices, ranging from those marketing to Anglos to those where you may be the only round eyes (assuming, without basis, you are) in the restaurant. Separate Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and pan-Asian supermarkets, as well.
I saw some folks recommending Argyle (nice area on the fringe of the metroplex), Justin (probably beyond the fringe, and a bit further than I’d want to commute) and Flower Mound (I don’t know if I’ve ever heard anyone say anything bad about it).
But, in short, you shouldn’t have any problem finding decent housing options in the greater Lewisville area. Depends largely on what part of Lewisville you would be working in, and how far you want to commute.
Thank you all for replying. You dont have to worry about bringing any liberal views, I proudly live in a red county. I am also an avid ATV rider and I have worked with the AMA Pro Nationals Motocross series for over 20 years it would be the only time i return to Washington or a family emergency. Thankfully I dont have to worry about schools, since im not married or have kids.
Peachtree Corners is still generally sane. County & state gov is Republican. As long as you stay OTP (outside the perimeter hwy I-285) you should be okay...at the moment.
Atlanta city, though, avoid it.
We live in Irving/Valley Ranch, on the west side of MacArthur. That's important, because that's in Coppell ISD. East side of MacArthur is Carrollton/Farmers Branch. Homes are priced at least 5% cheaper due to the difference in quality of the school districts.
If the job's in West Lewisville, then Flower Mound is probably where you should look. North Lewisville, Lake Dallas. East Lewisville, Frisco or The Colony.
All of these suburbs are excellent communities IMO. I've lived here nearly 25 years and seen the growth of North Texas...it's phenomenal. They can all boast of the amenities and necessities that we all look for: fire and police, parks, soccer, baseball, and basketball facilities.
Here's a tip that I picked up: if you buy a 2 story house, make sure the a/c unit covers more than the square footage of the upstairs. When we bought our house, the builder put in a unit that covered only 90 percent. As a result, the unit was on 24/7 during the summer, and just couldn't keep up. Our electric bills were killers 4 months out of the year.
I admit I'm biased, but I'll take North Texas over North Atlanta every day of the week.

Are you planning on Lewisville for the proximity to DFW Airport? You stated travel.
There are some nice areas around the lake.
DFW has some of the highest insurance rates for autos in the nation. Just saying.
Irving actually has some nice areas...Farmers Branch as well.
It boils down to the damn traffic and monotonous scenery. Cookie cutter towns.

Argyle and areas south of Denton, Texas are very nice. As stated by others, if you are a Democrat, please don’t move to Texas.
The City by the Lake is next to Lewisville and sits on Lake Lewisville. The Colony Texas. We walk every night by the lake. We have 2 golf courses including The Tribute where the LPGA has a tournament. We are next to Frisco and Plano and Lewisville and Carrollton and we are on the lake.
The Stewart Peninsula is the best value you will find. Homes you find in Plano and Frisco but less expensive. Here it is:
