35- Electricity will become incredibly cheap and clean.

That is really nice, except the fairies and unicorns will have to work overtime...

None of this happens if the BOOGALOO comes first.

My guns and ammo are ready.

If the electric truck can mount a .50 cal. for the siege on Denver, then cool.

But.....I think you have just too many numbers on that long-haired list of yours.

Most families will need a gasoline powered vehicle for long trips of more than 50 miles.

Sodpoodle, the humor that you post is always welcome. You’ve outdone yourself this time.

Apparently written by a fellow named Joseph P. LaStella:

Actually, yes. Nuclear is the cleanest energy out there.

39. Electric car companies will make it part of the contract you sign that only they can work on your car. You will be charged a monopoly price for repairs.

40. You will be able to purchase options on your car, for example to increase performance or support fast recharging, but when you go to sell the car those options will be deactivated. You will be told you only paid to rent those options and your care will be worth much less in resale value.

41. Electric cars will need to always be hooked to the web. Your car will have to be available for constant software updates or else your car will go out of warranty and your insurance will be invalid. Your whereabouts will always be known.

42. Trying to add any features to your car may be considered "jailbreaking" and will make the warranty and insurance invalid.

43. The electric grid will have to be further expanded in order to support all of the charging. This will make it more susceptible to EMP.

44. With more people charging their cars at all hours of the day and night, wind and solar will be seen as a luxury which we can't afford. More power will be generated by coal, oil, and natural gas.

45. More third world countries will see environmental catastrophes as mining for lithium and rare earths expands. Their populations will be subject to poisoning and other harmful environmental effects.

46. People will be forced to purchase self-driving cars, electric or otherwise. In order to drive yourself you will have to pay for time on a closed test track.

47. Terrorists will wreak mayhem by hacking self-driving cars and causing major high-speed traffic accidents or using the cars to deliver bombs, etc. to specified targets.

Interested summary. The one major problem is the build out of the electrical grid. Who pays for it and who owns it. The power companies will insist and get a fee from every solar installation the is also connected to the grid. Makes the cost structure fail without subsidies.

No job on a vehicle of any type takes 10 minutes that is just denial of the facts. Replacing a windshield takes more than an hour now and requires computer hard ware.

A handheld medical tricorder that takes blood samples? No, just no, and you get all the results that a main line lab has available? LOL

Fossil powered cars wont disappear completely but the whole fossil ecosystem will greatly scale down. Radio didn’t kill newspapers. TV didn’t kill radio. The internet didn’t kill TV. As long as wealthy enthusiasts like Jay Leno continue to drive fossil powered vehicles, the induction motor won’t kill the internal combustion engine either.
