39. Electric car companies will make it part of the contract you sign that only they can work on your car. You will be charged a monopoly price for repairs.

40. You will be able to purchase options on your car, for example to increase performance or support fast recharging, but when you go to sell the car those options will be deactivated. You will be told you only paid to rent those options and your care will be worth much less in resale value.

41. Electric cars will need to always be hooked to the web. Your car will have to be available for constant software updates or else your car will go out of warranty and your insurance will be invalid. Your whereabouts will always be known.

42. Trying to add any features to your car may be considered "jailbreaking" and will make the warranty and insurance invalid.

43. The electric grid will have to be further expanded in order to support all of the charging. This will make it more susceptible to EMP.

44. With more people charging their cars at all hours of the day and night, wind and solar will be seen as a luxury which we can't afford. More power will be generated by coal, oil, and natural gas.

45. More third world countries will see environmental catastrophes as mining for lithium and rare earths expands. Their populations will be subject to poisoning and other harmful environmental effects.

46. People will be forced to purchase self-driving cars, electric or otherwise. In order to drive yourself you will have to pay for time on a closed test track.

47. Terrorists will wreak mayhem by hacking self-driving cars and causing major high-speed traffic accidents or using the cars to deliver bombs, etc. to specified targets.

What happens if the “grid” goes down...or is sabotaged? Unseasonal cloudy and cold weather gives less solar heat and electricity. You run outta juice. But you need it for your respirator?
Autonomous cars...all of them? If software crashes or sensors go bad...or potholes...or debris falling off of truck...forget it. Many more accidents. Then...who is legally liable?
