SEATTLE On June 8, Seattle police frantically loaded what they could from the east precinct onto trucks and cars. Within hours, they boarded up and abandoned the station. That night, left-wing protesters from Black Lives Matter and Antifa declared ownership of the six-block neighborhood in the middle of the Pacific Northwests largest city. They named their new territory the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, or CHAZ. No laws or rules applied here except for one: No cops allowed.
During five undercover days and nights in the zone, I witnessed a continuing experiment in anarchy, chaos and brute-force criminality. In order to avoid being exposed as a journalist several reporters have been barred or expelled I slept and showered outside the zone. (Those inside have no showers but they do have portable bathrooms.) I took meals, and most of my water breaks, elsewhere because I was reluctant to remove my mask and risk being recognized. Every day I entered the zone twice through its semi-porous borders once in the early afternoon, and again after sundown, staying until the wee hours.
Crime has surged inside and outside the zone.
On Saturday morning, a shooting erupted that left at least one person dead and another injured near a border checkpoint. Police were reportedly met with resistance when they tried to get to the victims, who apparently were then taken in private cars to the hospital. Cops made it into the zone to gather shell casings and evidence, some reports said, as police in riot gear stood at the border.
On Thursday, police arrested Robert James after he left the CHAZ. He is accused of sexually assaulting a deaf woman who was lured inside a tent. The same day, former city council candidate Isaiah Willoughby...

Escape Seattle now!
The Mayor and Governor are brain dead—but we are talking about six blocks.
Six blocks.
Most tourists to Seattle have never even been to that part of town.
The many millionaires who live in the city do not live in that part of town.
The big hotels and the Amazon HQ are not in that part of town etc etc etc.
This is part of the story which amazes me. The Mariners field is around 2 miles away from CHOP. If you come off I-5, you can avoid the affected zone, but most people would look at this and ask themselves...why drive your car in and risk damage to it? Cops won’t provide protection...either for your car, or for you.
In this area around Chop, there were various restaurants and pubs, which made money for the city, with the tourist trade. They were all hurt by the minimum wage ‘game’, and Covid-19. I don’t see half of them existing after this mess. It’ll just turn into a dead zone after Chop leaves.
Article says 30,000 people live within that area. Sounds a bit high.
Using their figures, that should be 30,000 lawsuits against the city.
Good timing for the pride parade to have been canceled. Might have been an interesting week.
Later.
I have a friend who wants to do exactly that. Wife, child, and job are currently preventing him. However, if he gets some time off he might take a road trip. He’s the kind of guy you just don’t mess with.

You are calling for fair reporting from the people who are at war with you. Think about that.
Regular people need to arm up and take out every single terrorist socialist thug and thuggett in the place to restore law and order quickly.
They planned riots to surround the WHite House so they could cry, "Halp! HALP! The White House is in danger!" but Trump prevented that from happening by displaying troops (remember the snipers (conspicuously) walking to the white house grounds?
Now the U.N. is meeting on an urgent basis to discuss racial injustice and police brutality in the U.S. and "other regions". Note that London, England is under similar riot attacks.
SO the stage is set, all that is needed is Trump to react in a manner the Deep State and the MSM (but I repeat myself) can spin into a collapse of law and order (portray Trump as operating a police state) to beg the U.N. to intervene.
I believe Nancy Pelosi and others started the strategy long ago, and then made it official in fall of last year via confidential meetings between her "delegation" and the U.N..
That doesn't make any sense!
If he truly intended to go undercover, he should have lived exactly as the inhabitants, foregoing showers, etc.
How does leaving CHAZ and showering/sleeping at the Ramada Inn increase one's OpSec?
Regards,
I think that’s because if he (Andy Ngo) had taken off his mask at any time then he would likely have been recognised.
Jeff Bezos main offices are there.
Who or what is an "Andy Ngo?"
But seriously: After days of living in CHAZ? Not shaving? Without professional make-up artists tending to him?
He'd have been lucky if his own mother had recognized him!
Regards,
I had no clue 30,000 residents lived in the zone now occupied by the subhuman forces of evil holding them hostage.
That is horrifying. I would not stay in that dangerous environment under any circumstances. I would check into an economy hotel somewhere in rural Washington for the duration and wait it out.
This is absolutely nerve-racking for the residents. I don’t even care if they did vote for Obama. You can say they deserve this but IMHO, nobody deserves this. Of course we can agree they are culpable in its fruition, but I still would not wish this on my worst enemy.
You do get the government you deserve and vote for, however. You would hope they would learn form this cataclysm, but somehow I doubt most liberals will assign blame where it belongs. Most will rationalize this away somehow.
Will the last person to leave Seattle please turn out the lights.
It is not OK for Antifa to be carrying guns in the BLM occupied zone, so much as the cop’s just have a hands-off, go ahead and kill yourselves approach to it. I am not against that. Let them kill eachother off so that the rest of America can see what happens when anarchy reigns.
I do get your point, however. If you open carried in Seattle, you would be doing hard jail time in the future. It is a massive double-standard. In this case, while I would like to see the police instill law and order, I do appreciate how this will end in disaster and show the rest of America.
Lucky for her that the Fox News reporter was only banished rather than raped. It is coming.
He was trying to avoid showing his face. Showers are probably public to some extend, the way festival hippy showers are. You can’t shower with your mask on. So if somebody recognized him after all of his time on Fox News, his cover would be blown.
I don’t know why he couldn’t sleep there and hide his identity, but obviously there was that risk too. Maybe he feared his mask falling off while sleeping and somebody milling around nearby recognizes him.
He didn’t explain it very well, but I believe he understood how to maintain his cover and gave us an indication, but should have explained it fully if he was going to mention it. Or else an editor just cut it out before publishing.
Hopefully some agency is collecting cell phone data from those within this zone, using it to identify insurrectionists, monitor their contacts, and will act at some future time to roll up networks and hit them with RICO charges.
