I have pulsatile tinnitus from a head injury. for over 10 years and for the rest of my life I will hear every one of my heart beats until I die. It’s quite entertaining?
it’s only in the right ear. But even when I feel fine I will hear palpatations and that’s always good for a laugh :-)
Not often. Had all the heart tests
doctor says it only happens like once a month ignore it
My sister has pernicious anaemia and is B12 deficient..she is currently 29 weeks pregnant(Starting her 30th week tomorrow) her B12 number is 412 but that is due to her getting shots every month..she can eat all the good foods with B12 and it makes no difference, she is deficient due to the pernicious anaemia she has..I dont believe she has ever said a word about having ringing or humming sounds I will ask her about that
if anyone gets the clogged ear problem I finally discovered what it probably is and what works
I thought it was wax in the ear and tried all kinds of things to get it out
turns out the most likely cause is was it called
Eustachian Tube Dysfunction
I ran across some people talking about what worked for them online. I tried it. It works for me
Vitamin A and Zinc. I took it every other day. I think vitamin A was 8000 mg.
I dont take it all the time.
When the problem comes back, I start in again and it clears it up.
If it is not ETD, whatever it is...it is cured with Vitamin A and Zinc for me.
Try magnesium, too. I got tinnitus really bad from a concert after 9/11. Magnesium pills resolved the issue.

Another reason eat the Med Diet or Paleo Diet.
I was diagnosed with tinnitus at Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary, the world’s top hospital specializing in diseases of the eyes, ears, nose and throat. The doctor (an M.D.) said that tinnitus is a symptom,a result,of hearing loss.No mention of vitamin B12 at all.
clarification on a few things: One, take the form methalcobalamin, not the other 2. Methyl is the best form.
Two, a very high percentage of the population has LOW stomach acid, not high. In fact high stomach acid doesn’t even exist. Low acid manifests as ‘high’ by symptoms of GERD and indigestion.
When stomach acid is low you cannot break down your food and supplements and gain the benefits from them. So, supplementing really needs to be done in conjunction with raising acid. This is typically done by supplementing with HCL, which IS stomach acid.
Many older people have exhausted their natural sources of intrinsic factor and so they cannot meet their B12 needs through diet. GET THE SHOTS! It makes a world of difference.
I can tell when I go too long between injections. I get more light-headed, I develop a peculiar type of a headache, and the ringing in my ears is deafening! Further, it is very difficult to take too much of B12. It is water soluable. What you don't use, you excrete. HTH.
My hearing has been modified by high explosives, RPG and heavy equipment. At least I can hear more than my ears rigging.
You mean it is simply a B12 deficiency and not years of B-52 engines, or steel shop work, or power plant compressors or shooting riles?
why didn’t someone tell me this (with sign language) years ago!
I suffer tinnitus. Probably from hypertension, but also rock concerts, industrial noise, gunfire, etc.
Strange thing, my hearing is perfect. I can hear multiple clocks ticking in the house, I can hear a cat walking on carpet or hardwood. BP definately makes it worse.
There is a lot of truth to the article.
I’ve had Tinnitus for years and it is just horrible.
My B12 levels were fine and they were never able to determine why I got it. I woke up one morning and there it was.
I feel for anyone who has it. It is one of those things that doesn’t sound like it is too bad to have it, but it really is torture. Most people learn to live with it but it takes a long time. Hopefully they will find a cure for it someday or at least a treatment.
I’ve had it since the early 70’s. I was an FTG on an old tin can for three years. We were a reserve training ship (DD-778) and had to train the weekend warriors on the 5” guns. There was not a place on the ship you couldn’t hear or FEEL it.
Beware of references to specific vitamins!
Although vitamin C supplements probably aren’t going to hurt anybody in my non-medical opinion, please consider this. Perhaps the UK doctors should have noted vitamin B complex instead of specifying B12, B complex an optimized (my word) mixture of the various Bs if I understand correctly.
Ask your MD.
Also, vegan and vegetarian diets are associated with vitamin B deficiency.
Corrections, insights welcome.
Damn, I didn’t realize how much B12 Jack Daniels has until I read this.
Anemia is a sign for bleeding due to stomach cancer as well. Get an UPPER GI scope.
My daughter recently had a cancer scare that, thank God, turned out to be benign. But in the 8 days from her biopsy and her positive results, I went into a complete emotional breakdown. I assumed that when her good news came in my nerves would recover. But they havent. Her results came in on June 10 th and I cant snap back to sanity. Before her scare, I was already starting to feel anxiety and depression over whats been going on in the news, so I think that is playing a big part in what Im experiencing now.
Went to see doctor and she said I may have a vitamin B deficiency. I suffered with extreme anemia last year and had to get a blood transfusion and take iron meds. My blood count had improved greatly when I went back in January.
I bought a bottle of B12 vitamins and hope to see some improvement in my anxiety. Praying for something to work. Already taking Lexapro for several years but theyre doing me absolutely no good.
